Just being himself is enough apparently

"You pervert are still planning to fuck me? Dude, it was just a way to motivate you to do your best. Drop it already." What the? How did she come up with that idea? Okay, fair point, she was correct, but how did she know? He didn't even plan to pull any tricks right now, so no matter her perception, she couldn't see his physical reaction in advance. So how did he turn her mad.

"The heck are you talking about?" He took his hand away, putting his arms behind his back, reminding himself of some zen-training pose. Maybe she just figured out that his Locked Love only works on contact and just assumed that him not being against her touching his arm would be equal to him trying to fuck her. But then it would be her fault, because she initiated the contact, not him, right?

"Doesn't matter. Just follow me." She said and ran out. Not walked, ran. John hurried to keep track with her and they quickly found themself in front of his house. "Now, the barrier ends just a few feet in front of you." She stated as if it was a surprise. John could clearly see the end of the barrier. Wait, maybe he wasn't supposed to see it? Did he gain an advantage with his Observe skill being maxed out? Better not put attention to it. The less she knew about his skills, the better.

Testing he stepped forward and put his hand in front of him, touching the barrier. It reminded him of last night, where he was trapped in one of those. The bat monster was the one who then opened it up for him, so he assumed he was trapped in this one as well, until Henrietta was happy with him.

"Get out." She sternly told him. Okay, apparently not stuck in here. John took another step forward, expecting to be able to pass it now, like the last time.

Boink

He pushed against it with his head. It was just as solid. "The fuck? You should remove the barrier if you want me to get out, you know?" He told her, rubbing his forehead. The pain was not really noticable, the only lasting effect he got was the loss of 1 HP. Bearable.

"Why don't you do it? Get out of the barrier. That is your first task." Apparently it wasn't only a task.

Of course he accepted. Even if he said no, Henrietta would surely **** him to do it anyway, not that he had a choice even if she wouldn't. If he ever wanted to leave his house again, he would have to break this barrier. "Okay, how do I do it?" He asked her.

"I thought you already knew how, given how you approached it the first time. That is all I am going to say." Bitch. A good teacher leads by example. And if she could spawn these things out of nowhere, then why not demonstrate how to break one and just spawn the next one for him? Nevermind that now, he got to focus on the task at hand. Approaching it like he did first. What did he do first? Touch it!

Again with his hand against the wall he thought what would come next. Was it really this cliché as he just thought it would be? Well it was worth a try. He focussed his mana in his hand, or he wanted too, but had no idea how. Silently cursing himself for not trying this sooner he whispered to himself.

"Mana, go on, do something." But nothing happened. How does he focus mana? In all the games it always was done by closing your eyes, focussing on your inner power and then thinking about how it enters the place you want it to be at. That place being his hand now, would then start glowing. Wait, maybe he did it right, but focussing mana was just not how to break the barrier? He was at hold in multiple steps at the same time now. Shit. Half a minute later he surrendered to his missing knowledge.

"Okay, I am lost. I assumed I would just have to focus some energy deep from within me or something on the barrier and it would break, but neither did it break, nor did I have the feeling of focussing anything. Just tell me okay? I am better at following directions than figuring it out myself anyway."
