“Let’s take the left passage.” Lizette says. “The one that goes down.”
With the order having been given, the Roses follows their new leader down the passage. After a few minutes it seems like Lizette made the right choice. Throughout the passage they did not come across any Towerlings. Traveling down this passage is also easy. It has a slight curve to it, going down in a circle. The members of Rose squad can follow the road down without a lot of effort. Had Lizette chosen to go up instead, it probably would have been quite a bit different.
After a long winding path, having ignored all the side passages, the troops arrive at a large room. Several other passages converge to this room and in the center of is a wide hole, about five meters deep. Around the edges are large slugs, spitting a yellow mucus into the pit. Strangely, the Roses can walk pretty close to these slug Towerlings without them responding to their presence. Almost as if they don’t care about women. Well, at least that’s one Towerling they don’t have to worry about.
Eve and Lizette take look into the pit and see it is filled with the yellow mucus the slugs are leaking into it. From their vision there is no telling how deep it is.
“Why on earth would they collect mucus for?” Eve asks.
“No idea.” Lizette says. “Maybe we should ask them.”
“Sure, be my guest.” Eve replies.
