Lizette turns to her troops and says, “We should move on.”
The group walks along the side of the hole, passing along several giant slugs who luckily ignore them. Just as they come in front of one of the side passages they are blocked by a large amount of loose dirt flying out of the tunnel, landing right in front of them. Lizette commands the team to stop and wait with their weapons at the ready. After the dirt stops flying out of the side passage, a human sized bunny comes hoping out of it. It has brown fur, bright pink eyes,and is hopping backwards, so it doesn’t see the human infiltrators.
“Aww, it’s a cute little bunny.” Gabriella says and lowers her weapon.
Eveline wondered about what Gabriella would consider large upon hearing that.
When the giant bunny is close enough to the pile of dirt it starts kicking its hind legs and pushes the dirt into the hole with the pool of mucus. Once the dirt falls into the pool it starts to disintegrate. Once the dirt is in the pool, the bunny rears its head and finally sees the Rose Squad Soldiers. Despite it now being aware of their presence, the bunny remains calm.
“Do you think it’s hostile?” Frost asks her sister.
“It’s a Towerling, of course it is.” Fire says.
“Yeah, but so are the slugs and they aren’t attacking us.” Frost replies.
Gabriella interrupts the twins conversation and says, “Oh, come you two. It’s a bunny. Bunnies are sweet and gentle.”
Then the Latina leaves her position and walks up to the seemingly docile Bunny.
“Gabriella, get back here.” Lizette hisses at her angrily.
Gabriella ignores the order and walks up to the giant bunny. She then puts her hand on its head and starts petting it.
The Latina turns to her human friends and says. “See, it’s perfectly safe.” Then she turns to the bunny and wraps her arms around its neck to give it a big hug.
