[Example] <--- these things

We will see how this works out. The chapters i have prewritten look good at least.

„How does that even work? “ Catherine asks as she hands Ulal a glass of water. “Don’t fucking ask me.” He returns and rubs his forehead as he takes the water. Aclysia on the other hand seems very interested, making notes as she always does with her expressionless face.

“At least somebody is getting something from my pain.” Ulal says and puts the now empty glass to the side. “How DOES that work?” Catherine repeats. “You are an immortal Demon. I never heard of a demon getting ill.” “Neither have I and I have Jalkal’s memories.” Ulal answers and let’s out an annoyed sigh. “To be honest this doesn’t feel like a normal illness…more like something really annoying is coming my way and I get the headache in advance. Call it an ill omen if you want to.”

“I don’t.” Catherine says, “Now let’s get back to the topic at hand.” Ulal nods, “Right.” And gets up from his chair. Currently they are within his laboratory, working on a little plate of metal. It really is boring, just a circular cut piece with the three eyes engraved into it. A small ring of runes at the outside is all that seems even the slightest bit impressive.

Catherine goes over the plan next to it. “So, we have successfully built the most useless enchantment in history. ‘Protection against flames not right and creates mark on the back of the hand after a week.’ I have a wild guess what you want to achieve here but it really is stupid.” Ulal raises an eyebrow, “Oh, let’s hear it.” “These can be mass-produced as long as you have the original plans.” She taps on the paper. “And while the enchantment is useless it provides an easy way of identification. If you can give this to every single one of our citizens the jobs of spies will be at least a tiny bit harder.”

“You are so smart Catherine.” Ulal applauds, “Want to fuck?” “I thought you had a headache?” “Never stopped me before.” The Demonmagus returns. “Threesome?” Aclysia asks, while still writing. “Sure.” Catherine snaps with her fingers a few times to get the attention back to her. “If you immortal fuckbuddies could concentrate on this poor little girl for a second.” She complains. “I don’t know why you would include that useless enchantment. ‘Protection against flames not right’. What is that even supposed to mean?”

Ulal smirks, “You will know once we get there.” “You with your surprises…” Catherine sighs, “I really need somebody normal to hang out with.” The Demonmagus laughs, “HAH, good luck. The only normal people in your surroundings are Glenn and Zerine and these two are way too afraid of us.”

Another sigh, “I know…I know…” She says. A small pause. “I miss Kyra.” Ulal raises and eyebrow. “Where does that come from.” “Just a sudden longing for somebody I could drink with, without being afraid that they will burn down the tavern.” Catherine gives him a very telling look. “That was Uklag.” “So, you won’t do that?” “No, yes, maybe? Can’t be sure, I don’t even know what alcohol does to a demon.”

Aclysia grabs a bottle. “I am not drinking pure Ethanol.” Ulal says without even looking over. The sound of a bottle being put on wood. “Disappointing.” The alchemist mumbles. “Yes, disappointing.” Catherine crosses her arms. “Do you know what my weeks consists of? Teaching, trying to find something useable to produce, keeping Glenn and Zerine from going all panic on the city, haggling with Tarzana and trying to get Aclysia to sometimes come over so we have a few more alchemists. I am basically running your city.”

“And you are doing a fantastic job.” Ulal says and pats her on the shoulder. Catherine takes a deep breath. “Aclysia, would you help me find out what a kick to the balls feels like to a Demonmagus?” “Certainly.” The immortal answers and puts down her paper. Ulal takes a step back, just in case. “Okay, okay, what do you want?”

“I don’t fucking know yet.” Catherine hisses. “Mostly I want to punch Tarzana in her smug face. But I guess a distillery would help for a start.” Ulal stays silent. “…You burned all the plants needed for production, didn’t you?” “Maybe.”

Catherine massages the bridge of her nose. “Now I have a massive headache….” “If it is drinkable alcohol you desire, I have a way to produce it.” Aclysia says. Catherine looks up. “Really?” She asks with a glimmer of hope. The alchemist nods. “Potato based.” “I will take whatever I can get at this point.”

Ulal smiles ‘Crisis adverted…I hope…’ He keeps an eye on Aclysia. One can never know what her curiosity might make her do. “So, threesome?” He asks. Catherine shrugs, “Whatever I got a bit of time.”
