"He applied to MIT for robotic engineering, so he'll be separated from all of us."

"What? You didn't know? Hmm." Lisa said as Heather punched her playfully.

"That's probably why he doesn't want to get too close to anyone, you saw how painful it was for him to give up on Vicky, and she was a simple crush, imagine him splitting with someone who he thought he had a future with. I see where he's coming from now, he is a smart boy isn't he Ash?"

Heather sagged against the back of the sofa after hearing Hannah's reasoning, "What am I supposed to do now Lisa? He's leaving in the fall."

"I know hunny. We just have to hope he keeps in touch, that's all." Lisa said as she wrapped Heather up in a tight embrace as Heather leaned her head onto her friend's dependable shoulder like she'd done so many times in the past.

"Yeah, I see it. Looks like the light from the candles in the hall are glinting off of something." She said as she bent over at the waist to pick whatever it was up. Taylor picked it up, then dropped it again in shock as she felt Zack's hands on her waist.

"Don't be such a baby Zack. I know you've thought about you're leaving for college as well, I've been watching you. All these girls are willing to marry you right now, but you won't as much as go on a date with them because you care for them too much. You don't want to hurt them or yourself when you have to leave, think of me in the same way. Please." She said as she unlocked the door and walked out into the hall closing the door behind her, leaving Zack staring at the door.
