When the scouts return...
Lord Stark arrives.
Your Master-at-Arms arrives two weeks later he informs you that twenty five horsemen are camped at the Twins. Lord Frey will only negotiate the crossing with Lord Stark.
The rest of the horsemen made it as far as the Trident. They reported that the Crownlands were raising levies for an army for Rhaegar to lead. At the moment though, no one knew where Rhaegar was. Villagers spoke of a great Baratheon victory at Summer Hall where Lord Robert defeated three loyalist armies in a single day; a feat unheard of in recent history. Latest news was that Robert was heading north into the Riverlands.
You carefully place the markers on the map denoting the current military situation. By mid day a group of riders come down the Kingsroad...Lord Stark at their head. Several miles behind you can see the infantry winding their way down the road they will be at the castle on two hours.
When Lord Stark arrives, you escort him to the war room you have set up, and give him the intelligence you have received. You also let him know of the situation at the Twins.
"Excellent work. Now I want your horsemen leading the vanguard of my army. I'll leave a detachment of longbow men from Deepwood Motte to hold the castle." You have just been given a position of honor. You will be the hardened tip of the spear that is the Northern Army.
How do you respond to Lord Stark?
