The sun sets

The pair attempted to steal each other’s dinner for a brief moment before locking their lips in another embrace. Each attempt was followed with another kiss. Before long, all that remained of their dinner was a few small puddles of steak sauce.

“That was…BUUUUUURP…” Heather blushed as she tried to cover her mouth. “…Yummy.”

“Yes. Yes it was!” Zack bit his tongue as he tried not to laugh.

“Sorry. That wasn’t very romantic,” Heather blushed with embarrassment.

“Don’t be. It was awesome!” Zack laughed. Heather stuck her tongue out at her boyfriend as he giggled.

After giving Zack one last kiss at the table, Heather looked up towards the sky and saw the sun had gotten considerably lower while they ate. Being that it was only the middle of April the days were only just starting to get longer. Not wanting to miss the sunset that they planned their whole date around, Heather quickly set to cleaning up the table. While she washed the plates and silverware, she made Zack stoke up the fire and set up the chairs they brought with them.

“One chair or two, Baby?” Zack asked.

“What do you think? ONE, silly! How’m I gonna sit on your lap if I got my own chair?” the head cheerleader raised her eyebrows.

After finishing their respective tasks, Zack and Heather took a seat. Heather refilled their glasses and gave Zack a peck on his lips. His tongue quickly pushed past her lips. The pair of young lovers moaned into each other’s mouths as their kiss intensified. Out of the corner of his eye, Zack noticed that the azure sky was darkening slightly and broke off contact with Heather.

“Show’s starting, Love!” he grinned as the girl in his lap rubbed his cheek.

Zack stretched his legs out as far as he could get them. Heather rolled onto her side and leaned into Zack’s shoulder. With her legs bent at the knee she was able to be completely on his lap without causing him any discomfort. As he stared at the setting sun, she nibbled gently on his earlobe and neck.

While the pair sat comfortably, the normally blue sky put on a spectacular light show for them. The normally blue cosmos turned to a serene mixture of purples, pinks, yellows, oranges, and blues as the setting sun slowly dipped behind the horizon. The few clouds in the sky at the time mirrored the sun’s paint scheme which only added to the beauty of it. The surface of the lake also reflected the colors that shone in the heavens above the pair of young lovers as their dream date reached its climax.

“It’s so beautiful, Zack, don’t you think?” Heather hummed as Zack’s fingers ran up and down her arm.

“No, Baby, the sunset is pretty. You’re the one that’s beautiful!” Zack said as he kissed Heather’s forehead.

“Mmm! Thank you!” Heather purred as she took a picture of the scene above her. “Now a selfie of the two of us for the photo album! SMILE, Baby!”

The pair stood and turned to pose with the sunset behind them. Heather clicked off another image with her cell phone. Zack planted a kiss on her cheek as she took another one. After Heather kissed Zack on his lips, the boy turned to face the camera while the brunette took one last picture of the pair and their sunset. Zack looked right at the camera, grinned, and gave a thumbs-up.

“GOOFBALL!” Heather shouted as she flipped through the pictures and saw Zack’s gesture in the last one.

“Hehehe!” he chuckled as he kissed his girlfriend before they took their seats again.
