For the Birds
She had spent the most wonderful night in the woods. No traffic. No phones. No neighbors. Just trees, birds, and absolute peace.
She stepped out of her tent, stretched lazily, and enjoyed the fresh air on her bare skin.
Then she heard a voice.
“Good morning!”

Her eyes widened.
Slowly, she turned her gaze to the other side of the stream.
Four birdwatchers were standing there, all holding enormous binoculars.
They smiled and waved.
“Oh my God!”
One of the birders lowered his binoculars.
“Don't worry, we've got you covered.”
She stared at him in horror.
“That is exactly what I'm worried about!”
Another birder glanced through his binoculars again.
“Quite a view, though.”
“Put those things down!”
She looked around desperately. And she spotted a weathered wooden sign:
POPULAR BIRD-WATCHING SPOT — 50 YARDS
She closed her eyes.
Apparently, she'd spent the night sleeping in the one place in the forest where privacy was for the birds.
