What's next?
Battery’s dead
Marcus's hand lingers for a moment longer, then he withdraws it, glancing at the camera on the lounger. He picks it up, checks the screen, and lets out a short breath.
"Battery's dead," he says, almost apologetically. "We got a good batch, though. I'll send them over to your phone once I charge it tonight."
Izzy nods slowly, not moving from her position on the lounger. She doesn't sit up. She doesn't reach for her shorts. She just stays there, knees still slightly apart, the wet white bikini clinging to her skin, the fabric still wedged between her labia. The cool air brushes against her damp thighs, and she can feel the slow pulse between her legs, still warm, still aching.
She watches Marcus as he turns toward the house, and she lets out a soft breath. The praise — good girl — echoes in her mind, mingling with everything else that's happened tonight. She doesn't know what to do with it. She doesn't know if she should follow him inside or stay here, bare and wet in the fading light.
She stays. Her fingers trace the edge of the lounger, and her heart beats a slow, heavy rhythm against her ribs. She's not sure what just happened. But she knows she's not ready for it to end.
