Time With The Hubby
When Mary walked into her house, she saw the most egregious thing imaginable.
Her cat was sitting in Emily's lap. The feline even looked up at her, and Emily swore she saw it smirk.
"You fucking traitor. You never cuddle me." Emily looked over at Mary in confusion.
"Did you say something?" Mary shook her head and sat in a recliner.
"Just scorning my cat that refuses to cuddle me, but is on your lap in under 24 hours." Emily couldn't help but giggle at this.
"Noah is waiting for you in your bedroom." This caught Mary's attention.
"Oh, is everything ok?" Emily fought back a smirk.
"Just go up and see." Slightly concerned and very confused, Mary quickly made her way to the bedroom and opened the door.
There was a small table in front of the bed with a nice tablecloth, candles, an unopened bottle of wine, plates and glasses for two, and a covered platter.
Not only that, but Noah was dressed up and holding up one of her dresses.
"We got interrupted last night, so I thought we'd make up for it."
Even after five years together, he still melts her heart.
"I love you so much."
...
Mary couldn't get enough of looking at him. He was way too handsome. And way too romantic.
Their dinner was mostly gone, and Mary had drank about a quarter of the wine. She nearly dove across the table, but held back.
"Baby, you didn't have to do all of this," she said. Noah chuckled and gently took her hand.
"I know, but I wanted to show you how much I love you. I've been doing a lot of thinking recently, and I've realized that there is a right way to do this. And the most important part of that is working together, now and forever." Mary wiped a tear and held up her empty wine glass.
"To us." Noah smiled and clinked his glass (which had root beer) to hers.
"To us." Noah then stood up and walked behind her, putting his hands on her shoulder.
"I hope you're excited for what comes after the dinner." Mary smirked and tilted her head up for a kiss.
"I can't wait."
