What does Remy say?
Yes
The day almost ends without Remy touching the topic again.
Almost.
At 5:40 the floor has thinned out. Keyboards. Bags. Remy rolls her chair into the gap between their cubicles like she has been chewing the joke all afternoon and finally decided she is bored of pretending she didn’t.
“Okay,” she says.
Mia looks up.
Remy’s face is already doing the thing. That little smile. That tilt. Condescension dressed as generosity.
“I’ll teach you.”
Mia waits.
“Don’t make it a whole moment,” Remy goes on. “You showed me your husband’s science project, you walked in like you’d been hit by a truck, and then you said yes like a freak. Fine. I’ll teach you how to handle a big cock without turning into a workplace injury. God knows somebody should.”
“You’re sure.”
Remy laughs, quiet and mean. “Am I sure I can do something you clearly can’t? Yes, sweetheart. I’ve had bigger. I already told you. What you have is a husband who fucks like a door coming off its hinges and a wife who doesn’t know how to open her legs without writing a diary entry about it.”
Mia lets her talk.
“I’m not joining your little marriage,” Remy says. “I’m doing you a favor. I’ll show you how to take it. How to keep your jaw soft. How not to clamp. How to let a man that size actually use you instead of treating you like glass. You can take notes. Or you can watch and look stunned. That’s usually your move.”
“All right.”
Remy blinks, annoyed that Mia isn’t flinching. “That’s it? All right. No blushing. No oh my god Remy I couldn’t possibly.”
“You offered to teach me how to handle Adam’s cock. I said yes this morning. I’m still saying yes.”
Remy sits back, studying her, the bitchy smile thinner now.
“You are actually unhinged.”
“Are you free tonight.”
Remy’s mouth opens. Closes. “Tonight.”
“Yes.”
“You don’t let a conversation breathe, do you. I agree to tutor you in cock and you try to book me like a dentist.”
“Are you free.”
Remy looks at the clock, then at Mia, then at the darkening windows. The shock is real. Under it is the same pride that made her say she’d taken bigger.
“I mean. Yes. I’m free. I don’t have a husband to go home and get crippled by.”
Mia writes the address on a slip of paper and slides it across the desk.
“Eight.”
Remy picks it up like it might be a trick. “This is your place.”
“Yes.”
“And he’ll be there.”
“Yes.”
Remy’s laugh is shorter this time. “Of course he will. What’s the point of a demonstration without the equipment.” She tucks the paper into her phone case. “If this gets weird, I’m leaving. If you two start doing vows at me, I’m leaving. I’m coming to teach you how to take that thing. That’s all.”
“Eight,” Mia says.
Remy stands, bag on her shoulder, the condescending look firmly back in place.
“Try to ice your pussy before I get there. I’d like the student at least conscious.”
She leaves.
Mia goes home.
Adam already knows. She had texted him through the day in pieces — the walk, the photo, the I’ve taken bigger, the joke that stopped being a joke. When she comes through the door he is in the kitchen with that look, the one that means he has been hard in his head for hours.
“She’s coming,” Mia says.
“I know.” He kisses her temple. “Eight.”
Mia drops her bag and leans into him.
“Slight change of plan.”
Adam leans back enough to see her face.
“What is it?”
