After a night of being reminded of my place in their hearts, and their bed, we were loth to wake up on time.

Kay's mark made for a very unsympathetic alarm clock.

I didn't want to leave this feeling.

Being here with them, it was something I didn't want to give up; for however many days we would be out for our mission.

But I didn't want Kay to go out alone, even more so.

My mental state cleared walking out our door, like it always did.

The mood drowning my mind didn't improve but I tried not to let that affect them.

This mission we were sent on, did not improve my mood either.

At first.

Peacekeeping

Previously this mission resulted in us breaking up a few bar fights, in whatever area we were assigned.

It was practically a vacation when it was assigned to our own town.

However with our new rating, it was assumed there would be strong Adventures not only involved, but sober and actively antagonistic.

We weren't being sent to some small settlement like our own, we were being sent to a freshly cleared piece of land.

It already had two different factions fighting over it, despite their being a formal system to work this out.

These two factions being from two different gods, from two different nations, was further reason this was a powder keg and why we were sent.

"Your God has no claim here, we were here first!"

"Our God seeks all new lands to conquer, therefore wherever we are, it's his land!"

These idiots were standing in a line shouting and posturing at each other, we had heard this arguing as we approached, for quite a while.

"Man you bastards are loud, take it up with the officials or fuck off." It surprised me and the girls; that statement came from me.

"And who the hell might you three brats be, another group of followers come to try to swoop in, take our land!?"

"No we're are the poor motherfuckers tasked with keeping you two from killing each other."

"Are we really supposed to believe they would assign that mission to you three? Pick a better lie next time. "

I was really not in the mood for this bullshit, I was normally the level-headed one, but I wasn't feeling that today.

"Well if you two are that determined to do things the dumb way, who am I to deny you."

Rook was growling, Kay was about to start her own rant before cutting herself off and getting into position, Roxy was already prepared.

Good girls... And boy.

"You three Stand Down these two idiots and their friends have just volunteered to let me work through some issues."

" Brave words, still trying to Bluff your way through, we aren't wet nose punks, these men with me are seasoned adventures and I am a knight of my order. "

The other idiot must have felt similar, they took up a defensive posture, but were smart enough to do so without mining words.

Both groups were now positioning themselves to treat me as the enemy, good.

"Cute, Remember to beg when I'm done with you, it won't help, but I do enjoy hearing it."

Some of the weaker members, I could tell my words unnerved, they gained back some of their courage when I summoned a quarter Staff, it promptly left them when it sparked electricity.

I got close enough for the first one to strike, to his disadvantage he pulled a sword type I'd summoned before, I knew his weapon as well as I knew mine, and I made him look like a rank amateur.

He was readying some sort of skill, when I slammed the staff into his neck, and shocked him into unconsciousness.

His group lasted less time.

The other side, the one smart enough to keep their mouth shut, decided to do what they all should have from the start.

They would go to the officials, like they should have in the first place, however I wasn't going to let them off that easy.

"I'm glad you had enough common sense. Glad I didn't have to do this," I punctuated by kicking the downed leader over so he'd not chock, "to you, however all these idiots on the ground? You're going to help me take them back."

"But miss we are enemies, surely you won't trust us with their well-being?"

"I'm not a miss, to you I am Knight Captain Miranda, and I better be able to trust you with their well-being, does your God have so little honor?"

"I... Yes of course, right away."

"Don't worry, if you have any doubts about your men, we will be walking behind you the whole way."

I put the fear of me into them.

The walk back to the closest settlement took longer than I would have liked, some of the idiots even had time to wake up, after turning in the mission, and these idiots, we were able to rent a room.

For some reason Kay and Roxy weren't talking much today, the banter was at a minimum.

At least it did until all of us were in the room and the door closed.

Then everything felt right.

It felt like home, in every way that mattered.

They must have noticed me start to get weak for them already.

' I know your frustration child, to help, any place of privacy and sleeping will count.'

Unironically this helped more than I would have ever guessed or admitted.

Both my goddess and my girls knew me well enough that I didn't need to.

Everything that had been adding up to my mood, seemed to wash away in this moment.

As they both started to kiss and fondle me while hungrily trying to take my clothes off.

"We're here for you Miranda, let us take care of you for once."

The fact they noticed how heavy everything had been weighing on me, it lifted my heart, and the way they helped relieve it melted my body.
