**Chapter 3: The Dairy Farm**

In the vast countryside lies one of the largest dairy operations in the region. The farm is owned and managed by two free women — the sisters Lena and Mira. It houses approximately 100,000 livestock females at any given time, consisting of calves and cows. No men work here. The sisters run the entire self-sustaining system with the help of brainwashed Class 2 overseers.

**The Life Cycle**

Females under the age 12 are called **calves**. They are kept in enormous, open stalls where they can move relatively freely.

At exactly age 12, the transformation begins. The selected calves are brought to the conversion hall. Their arms and legs are surgically amputated, their bodies are branded with the farm’s mark, and they are permanently connected to the milking and feeding systems. From this day forward they are **cows**. They have no limbs. Their only purpose is to produce milk and offspring.

Each cow remains in production for exactly ten years. During this time she is kept in a state of near-constant pregnancy through regular artificial insemination. She gives birth to 12–13 calves on average. Milking machines run around the clock, draining her enlarged udders multiple times per day.

**Daily Operations**

Every day, roughly 140 new calves are born across the farm. At the same time, approximately 20 cows reach the end of their productive cycle or show declining milk yield. These cows are slaughtered at age 22 — or earlier if their productivity drops. The slaughter is quick and industrialized: a bolt to the head, bleeding, and full butchering. Nothing is wasted. The meat is sold to high-end markets, and the remains help feed the remaining livestock.

Because far more calves are born than needed to replace the slaughtered cows, the majority of excess calves are converted into **pigs**. They undergo additional modification and are sold immediately to meat production facilities. Only the best genetic specimens are kept as future cows.

**Management**

Lena and Mira walk the endless rows of stalls every morning. They wear nothing but high heels and collars, as required even for free women. With tablets in hand they monitor milk output, pregnancy status, and health metrics. Their slave overseers carry out the physical labor — moving new cows into position, performing amputations, and dragging spent cows to the slaughter line.

The system is almost entirely self-sustaining. The two sisters make all major decisions, optimize hormone mixes, and maintain strict production quotas. They know their own status as free women is fragile. One bad harvest, one drop in efficiency, or one displeased male auditor could see them degraded and sent into the very stalls they currently oversee.

The barns are a never-ending symphony of mechanical humming, rhythmic sucking from the milking machines, and the constant low moans and whimpers of thousands of limbless cows. This is not a place of cruelty for its own sake. It is a place of optimized, industrial-scale production.

Calves grow. Cows produce. Excess stock is converted into pigs and sold. Spent cows become meat.

And the cycle continues, day after day, with flawless efficiency.
