Chapter 10 by Captain Edison Captain Edison

Now that her powers are back, what's the plan?

Meeting Overlord Kane

A day had passed and plans had finally come to fruition.

The residual effects of the arousal trap had finally faded from Vixen, leaving her clearer-headed and more focused. The four of you had spent the time preparing. After careful discussion, you all agreed that Helix (Mara) would serve as the “prototype specimen” for this demonstration. She was the most physically capable and the least emotionally attached — making her the safest choice to present to Kane.

You had taken a portion of Verdant’s bio-energy generation and Vixen’s super speed, then temporarily transferred them to Helix. The result was striking.

The outdoor testing ground behind the industrial complex was a makeshift obstacle course you had constructed overnight — concrete walls, steel beams, climbing structures, and weighted targets.

You stood ready with Vixen at your side. Verdant waited nervously behind you, her four breasts modestly covered but still drawing attention. Helix stood at the starting line, her two tentacles coiled tightly behind her back, body humming with borrowed power.

The armored black vehicle rolled up exactly on time. The doors opened and out stepped Overlord Kane.

He was shorter than you expected — perhaps 5'6" — with a frail, almost delicate build. His body looked weak, like a strong wind could knock him over. But his presence was anything but fragile. He had a sharp, hawk-like face: high cheekbones, a prominent aquiline nose, and piercing silver eyes that seemed to dissect everything they landed on. His hair was slicked back, steel-gray at the temples. He wore a perfectly tailored crimson-and-black uniform that somehow made his small frame appear commanding rather than diminutive.

Two elite bodyguards flanked him.

Kane’s icy gaze swept over the scene. When he didn’t see Vex, his expression hardened instantly.

“Where is Dr. Vex?” he demanded, voice cold and cutting. “I did not come here to waste time with underlings.”

You stepped forward before he could turn away, bowing your head respectfully but not submissively.

“Overlord Kane,” you said smoothly. “Dr. Vex suffered a fatal laboratory accident three days ago during a critical experiment. He transferred his research notes, authority, and ongoing projects to me before he passed. I assure you — the work has not stopped. In fact, we have made significant progress on the Apex Vessel. Please, allow me to show you.”

Kane stared at you for a long, uncomfortable moment, his hawk-like eyes narrowing. The air grew heavy. For a second you thought he might simply leave.

Then he gave a single, sharp nod.

“Very well. Impress me, Traps. Or I will have this entire facility scrubbed clean by morning.”

You led him to the viewing platform, meeting eyes with Helix and nodding your head in confirmation. She breathed a sigh to steady herself and the demonstration began.

She blurred forward with Vixen’s super speed, leaping onto the first wall with effortless grace. Using Helix’s natural flexibility, she contorted her body mid-air, landing perfectly. Bio-energy flared around her fists as she smashed through a reinforced concrete barrier, sending chunks flying. Her tentacles lashed out, wrapping around overhead beams to swing her forward at incredible speed. She moved like a living weapon — fast, adaptable, and powerful.

The demonstration lasted nearly ten minutes. Helix cleared every obstacle with brutal efficiency, destroying targets and clearing gaps that should have been impossible.

When she finally stopped in front of Kane, breathing hard but standing tall, the air was thick with tension.

Kane remained stoic for a long moment. Then he spoke.

“Impressive physicality,” he said flatly. “But this is barely an improvement over what Vex showed me months ago. You claim to be close to a true Apex Vessel, yet you present me with a single hybrid relying on temporary power transfers.”

His silver eyes locked onto you like a predator.

“I am growing suspicious, Traps. Vex was many things, but he was never late with results. And now he is conveniently dead, and you have taken his place.” Kane’s gaze flicked to Verdant. “I will take this one as collateral. She will remain with me until you deliver a true prototype — one that possesses reliable super speed, strength, and durability — within two weeks.”

Verdant let out a soft, frightened sound but didn’t resist as Kane’s guards moved to escort her away.

Kane turned back to you, his frail body somehow radiating absolute authority.

“Two weeks, Traps. Fail me, and I will personally dismantle everything you have built here… including your new pets.”

Without another word, he turned and left, Verdant in tow.

The moment his vehicle disappeared down the rain-slick road, the weight of the ultimatum crashed down on you.

Two weeks.

You stood frozen, forlorn and panicking. Even with your growing powers and the women you had, there was no realistic way to trap, persuade, and fully transform multiple high-level heroes into a convincing prototype in such a short time. Your mind raced, but every path looked like a dead end.

Vixen stepped up beside you, her expression grim but determined.

“…I might have an idea,” she said quietly. “Some heroes in The Spark. A few of them are **** enough to consider working with us — at least temporarily — if it means striking a real blow against Kane. We could recruit them. Use them as the foundation for whatever prototype we need to show him.”

She looked at you, her eyes steady despite the fear.

“It’s risky. But it might be our only chance.”

You stared out into the rain, mind spinning with possibilities — and dangers.

Finding some true heroes
