Chapter 34

How does breakfast and shopping go?
The quest made it weird.
I wander into the kitchen, where I find myself being greeted by Madelon. "Hey, you did make a fun quest. I am planning to buy a bike at a nearby store. I believe Tim won't come harass us anytime soon. I would like to be able to bike to work, as it will make my life easier if I can actually move around. I would like to drive my bike to work if you are okay with it."
"I would enjoy that. I need to pick up my bike as well, it is still in the small bit of storage I had at my apartment. What do you want first, a joint shower or me feeding you something?" She drags my almost naked form to the shower, entering the bathroom. "Okay, shower it is." Neither of us says anything as we undress and get into the shower. I don't know how to explain what I see. The bruises that were there at the start of the week are gone, even some scars are totally gone, and those that weren't were reduced in size. "Nice to see that all the bruises are gone." She smiles as if to say I know. She wants me, us, not to break the moment. The act of washing each other, my hands gliding over her body, hers over mine. She spends more time on my groin than I like. "No touching my dick. Not yet. Some other day, some other time, not now." She listens with a grumble, but she understands the suggestion to be allowed later. As we dry ourselves, I ask, "Sandwich or pudding?"
"Sandwich, I suppose." I am dry first; Madelon's blond locks needed more time and work to dry off. I leave her to complete the process while I go make us sandwiches. Simple peanut butter and chocolate sprinkles. "Are you done making my breakfast?" She says in the moment before I shove the sandwich into her mouth. After finishing the bite she had been given, she commented on it. "You know, sometimes these childlike, almost treat-like sandwiches are great."
"That is why I picked this one. Not that I never eat these as a treat. This is something for when you need it. With the week we have had, I think to some extent we deserve it." I say, shoving the bread in front of her mouth so she can take another bite. She takes it with glee, as well as the whole sandwich from my hand. It looks like she is stealing a precious item, wondering why I turn to spot Robin at the door.
"You two seem to be having fun." They say with a smile on their face. As I look at them in their oversized shirt/pyjama, I realise their hips are wider, shoulders more slender, and face rounder and more feminine overall. Why? I can't put my finger on it immediately until I realise the Femininity perk. It had physical consequences, not just behavioural ones. If this perk had any behavioural ones, I hadn't spotted them yet.
"Yeah, why wouldn't we, sleepyhead. I will put on clothes and go buy Madelon a bike, if she has one, we don't have to drive her around all the time. Do you need one as well? I might snag my old one from storage at the old apartment if you drop me off there."
"Sure, let's." We all dress ourselves and head to the store for both of them. Nothing I see as we go out points to behavioural changes, and under their watchful eyes, I can't exactly check the app. We buy low-step bikes better suited for driving in dresses and skirts or with low flexibility. For when they want to do that. Madelon drives directly to work from there, and I kiss her goodbye.
Robin and I leave for home, where she parks the bike in the new, larger storage before heading to my old one. The small, narrow hallway leading to my storage was cramped, badly lit and all around gave an uncomfortable vibe. But it allowed access and made sure no one who didn't need to be there entered. Inside the small, cramped storage was a set of shelves that came with the place. Bins with my old clothes, an old sewing machine so old it was an antique, powered by an actual pedal and wheel, bought on a whim, and my own trusty steed, the bike I rode around town when I didn't want or need my car. "It might be an idea to move this antique to our place, so I don't need to buy a new one. I tested it, and it still works. My clothes are coming along anyway." With a groan from Robin, we move it to the car, the heavy machine having to lie flat on lowered couches and the back of the car. I go back as Robin, pants exhausted beyond belief. I move my bike together with the clothes, out of the storage, likely closing the door for the last time. Placing the bin in the car on the front seat, I say: "See you at home, sweetheart." As I do, I get on the bike and drive off into the midday sun towards our home.
I arrive sooner than Robin does by car and put my bike in the storage space with their bikes. That is Dutch road engineering if I ever saw it. The cut-throughs in nearby neighbourhoods allowed bikes to pass by without any hindrance, but cars, well... for them going through there was a painful afair. So everyone drove on the main roads around neighbourhoods. And if you need to remain within the same city, that can add up, ranging anywhere from a minute here, there to a full ten, and that is disregarding the need to park the bloody thing, which can cost 10 minutes alone in a busy place. Bike parking is ubiquitous, and in the space of a car, you can easily park 10 bikes.
I see her arrive as I get out again, not too much of a difference, at most 5 minutes, the parking space where I had originally parked my car is still free. But it is smarter to unload the heavy antique first and then park it. Having unloaded it, I start carrying the thing in small bursts, not wanting to buy a new thing I hardly need. Robin must have noticed and joined me soon enough, helping me carry it to the apartment. "So what are you actually planning to do with an antique sewing machine in the apartment?" She questions me.
"You haven't looked at the quest I gave you, have you? Part of it is me making you a new dress. Kind of hard without a sewing machine. I have some sketches for the costume, if you are wondering about that. As for your dress, I also have sketches." They look surprised as I open a drawing app on my phone. I had made some small sketches absentmindedly throughout the week for dresses and a quick one this morning for the costume, seams in green in a separate layer for all of them.
"They look great, all of them, even the costume. Why the hinged beak? Why stay with that persona?"
"Staying with the persona seemed easy, I could easily spot ways to make the costume more emotive, places to hide little details and comfort upgrades so it doesn't get too warm during summer. The moving beak is one of such upgrades to make it more emotive. It also has normal human proportions, eyes at appropriate places, so I could keep the same vision, and if I ever need glasses, I can buy a set of lenses for the goggles that make it work."
"You thought this out way more than I had thought. Good, this is really good. When can it be done?"
"A week conservatively, a single dress maybe today if I focus on it before stream."
"A dress in a day?"
"I have your measurements, and I understand the pattern, so as long as we don't pick a complex one, yes, it can be done in an afternoon. Factory workers across the world do way more, though they don't need to cut it."
Robin had opened their phone to look at the quest. "We als need to buy stuff for the room. I need to be there to buy fabric. I also need to buy stuff to decorate the setup. How can we do this if we want the dress done before the stream?"
"We go to one of the handful of fabric stores first, afterwards, drop me off with the fabric, you go to Ikea or whatever stores you need to hit up for the redecoration. When you return, we can do a fitting, maybe depending on the time, and we can order dinner again? That should mean you can do both of the quests before tonight, right?"
"Ohh yeah, we also need to plan how we are going to tell Anne, Roos and Bart about all of this."
Do we follow this franctic mess?
