“You jerk,” smiled Heather, “Make love to me.”

“Heather, I want you so bad,” Zack told her.

“But…” she interrupted, sensing his hesitation.

“But I think we should hold off until we at least have our first date,” he informed her.

“Okay, but are you sure you can wait two weeks before we get a chance to go out? We won’t have any alone time out here,” she frowned.

“Nonsense,” he told her, “. We gave Brandon and Ashley the whole day. No one will mind if we take one ourselves. We just got to think of what we can do to make it special. What do you like to do when you’re out here?”

“When it’s just me, I like watching the sunset from the beach. It’s really beautiful from there.”

“Okay sunsets. What else?” Zack pressed.

“Swimming, tanning, diving, canoeing. You know, lake stuff, Picnics, fishing. I may be a cheerleader, but I’m not a girly-girl.” she informed him.

“Okay picnics, canoeing, and fishing. Okay, I think I got it. Just a few questions first,” he smiled.

“Shoot,” said Heather.

“Those islands in the middle of the lake, are they accessible? Can we go there?” Zack asked.

“Yeah, nobody owns them,” she informed him.

“Anything on them besides trees?” he asked.

“A couple of the larger ones have fire pits and tables. The islands aren’t very big though. Biggest one is only about the size of a small gymnasium.”

“That’s plenty for what I’m thinking,” Zack smiled.

“Which is?” Heather was puzzled.

“We take a canoe out there tomorrow morning. We dock, set up a blanket and have a picnic lunch. We could spend the afternoon fishing in the shade. When late afternoon comes, we start a small campfire and cook dinner. By the time we’re finished eating, the sun will start to set. We sit back, relax, enjoy it, and each other. We can camp out there, too,” Zack laid it all out for her.

“No camping. We don’t have a tent, and I don’t want to put on a show for thirty cabins full of people,” she frowned.

“I’ve got a tent in the trunk of my car. A couple of sleeping bags as well. You got an air mattress we can use, right?” the hockey player replied.

“You’re good,” Heather complimented him and rewarded him with a kiss.

“It’s all set, then?” Zack asked.

“Yup. It’ll be perfect,” she replied.

“Well, then I guess I’ll pick you up at ten thirty,” the boy told her.

The couple snuggled together, kissing and making out for another twenty minutes or so while they lay on the bed. Each kiss was preceded by a smile. The two could have stayed like this all night, but a knock on their door shook them from their reverie.
