What Sight Greets You?

You strode purposefully forward, breaking into a light run as the doors slammed shut behind you, announcing your arrival to the desolate room. Instinctively your eyes darted around the foyer, you note the newly cum slick walls and smashed chairs sensing something bad went down here you increase your pace. The doors to Walgreens look relatively secure as you approach them.

A melancholy giggle seeps into your ear, as you turn your head to the right and see Amanda leant against the wall. The air of confidence that surrounded her earlier in the day is gone, her hair is disheveled and it's clear from the redness of her eyes that she'd be crying up until recently. Slowly she eases herself away from the wall and moves toward you as if in a daze.

It takes her a few moments to recognise your face as she parts her trembling lips to speak; "H-hey, any luck with f-finding the others." It's clear to you from her empty eyes and distant stare that Amanda seems to be teetering on the edge of sanity. Part of you wants to tell her the truth of family's fate despite the detrimental effect is may have on her.
