Week 14 Gameshow Section

As Claire plays a vibrant piece to introduce week fourteen, the display behind you changes to the board everyone knows at this point, a green beize for the cards drawn from the deck to land on.

“All right then, ladies and gentlemen, and I use those terms in the loosest possible way, it's time to begin with the draw. Let's see which lovely ladies the deck is providing for us this week.”

Rhett turns to face the screen as the cards circle the image, face down. One flips and falls into place on the left side.

“First we have the lovely Jada Washington, our 5 of Clubs!”

“Now this could be a challenge for any of our players except the fresher since he’s been largely living in the same house as Jada and his girlfriend Rebekah for months now. And if rumor is to be believed, he’s living large. Can any of you make Jada agree to a challenge? Time will tell.”

He pauses as the second card spins into place, landing in the middle of the board.

“And then… the Queen of Hearts, Dr. Genevieve Rousseau. Now, I don’t want to worry Cassie and Milo, but she’s the professor of comparative literature and I know for a fact that she’s working on the end of year sex play which means she is almost certainly tied up by the protagonist like his own personal rope bunny. Which leaves only one more card available for you freaks.”

As he finishes the sentence, the third card flips and falls onto the right side of the board.

“And it’s the 9 of Diamonds, Helena Vasquez. This 18 year old finance major might be the only true option on the board for either of our Fresher’s opponents. Not one of the drama girls, she is driven, determined, and always eager for something special. Can Milo or Cassie provide that for her, well let’s find out!”

He looks over the three of you, grinning like a predator sizing up its lunch.

“A feast of femininity for our fornicating friends. This week we go oldest to youngest, which means we start with our returning queen, Cassie Li. Cassie, do any of these ladies make you wet with desire or are you going to use your leader advantage and choose someone else?”

Cassie’s lips sit in their usual half-smirk. “While they are all beautiful, of course, my appetites are for something… bigger after the disaster last week. I’ll select the Empress of Spades, Rhett.”

He nods. “A full house, Empresses over Aces. Why am I not surprised?”

Another card rotates around the board before falling into place beneath the other three.

“Dr, Maya Redcloud,” muses Rhett. “A favourite of your opponent, Milo, who has performed a blowjob challenge with her twice if memory serves me right. I imagine that Queen Cassie will be going for something more challenging with our oral angel of criminal psychology, am I right?”

“Let’s just say I intend to make it special,” says Cassie. “I can’t let the Phantom be the only one to make an impression this year, now. Can I?”

“And there it is,” says Rhett. “Something for us all to look forward to next week. But who will be wearing the crown in that royal rumble? You’ll all have to wait and see. And since your reserve and free reserve slots are occupied, we move on to our next competitor.”

The spotlight focuses on Milo with Dr Selene Ravensmoor hovering over him like an eagle with her prey.

“Mi— Selene, you already have the ace of diamonds in your free reserve slot. Are you going to add to your gem collection today?”

Dr. Ravensmoor nods. “Yes, that 9 will fit nicely into a flush or full house.”

Rhett pauses a moment to give Selene a chance to reserve a card, but when she doesn't he turns to you. “That just leaves the fresher, the player who ran one of the best challenges ever seen in College Spread, but who is also trailing his opponents. Two cards remain available, Phantom. Take your pick.”

It's not hard. A queen outranks a five by a long way and you need the points. “Queen of hearts!”

“And with the queen of hearts being taken by our Phantom, that just leaves us with the power plays. Let's give them a moment to make their decisions.”

Claire plays a number that somehow manages to be as much count down as music. It's obvious there are no power plays this time. Milo's ahead with nothing in hand. He had no need to try to manipulate the points and while there could be an advantage to taking one of Cassie's aces, she'd block his play. Cassie has the beginnings of a good hand already and would be a fool to rush her aces for any power play that would leave her undefended. And you again have nothing special to achieve with power plays right now. After about a minute, Claire winds down her music and let's Rhett speak again.

“It looks like our players are all set on what they want to do already. So, let's let them get on with it. Make this a good week, you trio of terrors, and remember, this is the last cycle before the finale!”
