What does Mackenzie do?

Mackenzie stays calm, cool, collected, and naked (3 lies and 1 truth)

Chapter 18 by fleekwoodmac fleekwoodmac

Her hands flew to their natural habitats: the all-too-familiar covering locations where they'd gone hundreds of times during each of Mackenzie's many other mortifying incidents. With one arm across her boobs, the other shielding her crotch, and her eyes shut because of the shampoo, Mackenzie held her breath, as if any sound might alert whoever just entered the bathroom to her location. I'm completely naked and there's someone here!

A few painfully long and silent seconds crawled by.

When she heard the bathroom door shut followed by one of the stall doors shut, Mackenzie unfroze, restarted her breathing, and finally thought about things. I'm in a bathroom designed for showering, meant for only women, with a shower curtain between me and whoever that was. Mackenzie squirmed when she imagined them staring right at her, which she couldn't confirm nor deny without burning her eyes with the shampoo still dripping down from her hair. She tried to calm herself down by focusing her mind on the thick curtain, but fighting imagination with imagination only did so much.

Mackenzie turned toward the shower and started rinsing her hair. She felt particularly stupid for trying to be quiet, when she was literally standing under a running shower. Anyone entering the room would obviously know she was there immediately, and wouldn't be able to tell whether she was breathing or not no matter how loud she did it.

Mackenzie shook her head at her own nerves. I need to chill out. You can't be 'caught' taking a shower. There's nothing to worry about, thought Mackenzie.

Mackenzie tensed up when she heard a flush, but then she was relieved when it was promptly followed by the intruder washing their hands which was then promptly followed by the bathroom door opening and closing again. The woman gasped when she started washing her hands, but Mackenzie chalked that up to more chilly water, coming from the sink this time.

Alone at last, thought the relieved Mackenzie. She finally let her arms fall to her sides.

Turning around to finish rinsing the back of her head, Mackenzie opened her now relatively shampoo-free eyes.

Shampoo-free eyes that scanned up from the shower drain, to the edge of her stall, all the way along the bathroom tile past all ten of the toilet stalls, up the porcelain counter with the sinks, and finally landed squarely on the left half of her naked body reflected in the mirror. She yelped in surprise as her brain caught up with her eyes. Her curtain was only half shut!

The startled redhead yanked it closed, making sure both sides were as close to the shower walls as possible. She did everything she could to seal the curtain shut on an atomic level.

Maybe it slid open just now because of the waves... Then it would've been closed when the other person was here... thought Mackenzie, but a part of her knew she was just grasping at straws. The waves were ever present, shifting her side to side, but not enough to jostle the curtain open in any significant way. She knew deep down that she must've never closed it after the last time she peeked out, right before jumping in the shower, but she didn't want to affirm that idea in her head.

Mackenzie clutched her intimates and backed into the corner in the privacy of her now fully enclosed shower cubicle, and wondered what to do next.

Mackenzie did the mental calculations on what anyone could actually see on each route between the door, the stalls, and the sinks. Depending on which stall she chose, the woman might've not even seen the showering redhead. Surely she would've walked straight across to one of the closer stalls, so her shower would've been perpendicularly across the room, over eight or nine stalls away from the woman. Why would anyone turn their head ninety degrees in a bathroom? she told herself. Not to mention the lady didn't say anything or linger in any way, so it seemed fairly obvious to Mackenzie that she must've gone unnoticed.

Mackenzie neglected to realize what the woman would've definitely obviously been able to see in the giant mirror, and she also failed to remember the lady's gasp when she was at the counter directly across from Mackenzie's shower, in prime viewing position.

Without either of those facts in her mind, Mackenzie waffled over whether she should abort the shower test or not.
