Chapter 6 by Lucyh54 Lucyh54

farewell

Chapter 7

My mother left me the house because she already had plans. It turns out that whenever she contacted Melisa, she was a little jealous—in a good way—that Melisa could travel the world. Melisa invited her to join her, but she couldn't because I wasn't yet able to live on my own, so they decided to postpone it. That's when I found out that Melisa had paid for part of my university tuition. At first, my mother refused, but she told her that it was thanks to Melisa being by her side and always supporting her that she was able to achieve her goals. Now that I had graduated and knew I had a girlfriend, with whom she had become good friends, she didn't hesitate and decided to go with Melisa to see the world. Even though it was a business trip, with Melisa and my mother, they could sort things out quickly and have time to enjoy themselves as they deserved. I was happy that my mother could go away and enjoy her life. She left me the keys to the house, and when Melisa came to pick up my mother, she spoke with me and said she would send money so we could live comfortably. I refused at first, but she told me that she earned more money than she could spend, and besides, she... I also saw him as a nephew and told him to see me as an allowance, so I accepted so as not to reject the feelings that Melisa had towards me as her nephew and they went on a trip, we kept in touch and we make calls from time to time but they only return home 1 or 2 times a year.

After accompanying her for the first year, my mother realized all the work Melisa does and how she put in too much effort to visit us only 4 times a year. My mother, anticipating that she was putting too much pressure on herself, spoke to her about how she was now an adult with a girlfriend and that they could visit us when they really had time and thus not exert themselves too much. Melisa agreed and they told us about it in a phone call we made.

At one point, my mother and Zoe were talking, and Aunt Melisa called me and we talked too. Although she said she felt guilty about taking my mother with her, I told her it was better this way since I was happy they could be happy and enjoy themselves, and what better company than my aunt to show her the world? She cried a little and we said goodbye, but not before Melisa said she would send more money as an apology and hung up before I could tell her it wasn't necessary since even they couldn't spend the amount she sent me monthly.

Zoe and Alejandro
