Tania, a Hard Working University Student

Tania was finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Nearly four years of hard work were soon going to pay off as she closed in on her finals, and she was feeling confident almost to the point she was in danger of getting cocky. The twenty two year old politics undergraduate had managed to avoid the temptations that seemed to have consumed so many of her fellow students to drink, party and sleep around for the majority of their time at Uni. She had instead played the boring but clever long game of prioritising her studies.She felt satisfied it was the right call. Sure, she might enjoy doing all of that fun stuff now, but a first class degree from a top University ought to set her up for life, even in a competitive job market.

It was Friday evening and, as usual, she was hitting the books in her dormitory room.

In fact, Tania was so immersed in her studies that Priscilla had been standing in front of her for a good thirty seconds without even being noticed. Not one who liked to be ignored or kept waiting, the fairy cleared her throat impatiently.

"Oh, wow" Tania looked up in surprise and amusement to see the giant fairy in front of her "I guess I must have forgotten to lock my door again. Who are you and who put you up to this?"

"Who put me up to what?" Priscilla asked, a little thrown by the question, before launching into her usual, theatrical introduction "My name is Priscilla Appleblossom, and I am your Fairy Godmother!"

"Is this a charity thing?" Tania wondered "Because I already got signed up to three of those and I'm not made of money"

"What? No" Priscilla huffed "I'm here to grant one of your wishes. And this is one you made when you were seventeen and not yet sure what you wanted to do with your life. You didn't know if you should apply for a job, University or take a year out. And even beyond that, you were unsure of the kind of career you wanted, what and where you should study or which part of the world you should travel to if you took a year out to consider your options further. Do you remember?"

"Yes, I remember" Tania nodded "Did my friends from home tell you about how indecisive I used to be? Was it them who put you up to this?"

"Nobody put me up to anything!" Priscilla snapped "Anyway, to cut to the chase you were suffering from decision fatigue, and you made the following wish"

"I bet this was Beth's idea of a joke..."

"The wish was.." the fairy continued while glaring at Tania "That other people could make all of your decisions for you so you didn't have to think about them"

She then waved her wand at the student who was quickly immersed in glitter.

"Woah, how did you do that?" Tania smiled once it had cleared.

"Magic!" Priscilla answered "Enjoy your wish. And don't forget, your Fairy Godmother is always watching!"

Tania chuckled to herself and got back to her books, quickly dismissing what had just happened as a clever stunt. Half an hour or so later there was a knock on her door. It was her friend Lacey.

"Hey Lacey, did the fairy visit your dorm too?"

"What?"

"Never mind, how can I help you?"

"I've had enough of studying. It's the weekend and I feel like just going out, grabbing a few drinks and maybe even hooking up with some random cute guy. What do you think?"

Tania smirked to herself. Lacey could be so irresponsible sometimes - had she forgotten they had an exam on Monday? On top of that, casual sex had never been Tania's style.

"No thanks, I really have to study"

"Come on Tanny, you should cut loose for once and just have fun!"

"Okay"

"What, really?"

It was hard to tell whether it was Lacey or Tania herself who had been more surprised by the latter's response.

"Yeah, okay. If that's what you think I should do"

"Awesome, let's really go for it then. I'll meet you in the lobby at eight. You should wear something nice and revealing!" Lacey giggled suggestively.

"Okay then, I will" Tania answered obligingly. She then ducked back into her room and shut the door behind her before she found herself agreeing to anything else she didn't want to do.

As the model student began searching through her wardrobe for the sluttiest outfit she could put together, suddenly the fairy and her spell didn't seem so funny.
