Trivia

Emma saw as the wheel spun and spun until it finally stopped. It landed on a wedge labeled "mutant trivia." She silently mouthed "yes!" She could do this.

"Well, someone looks happy," Spiral said, walking up to Emma. "This game is simple. We'll ask you three questions. You'll have a minute to answer them each. If you get two out of the three right, you win. American grading system and all that. If you can't, you lose and get a punishment. Got it?"

"Of course I understand. Now just give me the questions," Emma said angrily.

"Oh, quick and straight to the point. I like it," Spiral said. "First question: who was the first young mutant Charles Xavier ever recruited?"

"Hmmm. This is a simple trick question," Emma said. "Many people would think Scott, or maybe Jean, but I know the truth. Before any of that Charles meet Tessa, and recruited her for a secret mission of infiltrating the Hellfire Club. That's how I met her."

"Correct. Though she technically goes by Sage now." Spiral said. "Next question: who is currently the oldest living mutant?"

"Another trick question. Most people would say Apocalypse but again the answer is a previous member of the Hellfire Club. Selene." Emma said proudly. A loud buzzer noise rang out and Emma's smile dropped. "What?"

"Sorry, but the answer we're looking for is Krakoa. While it exists due to a time loop it chronologically did come into being before Selena. Or even mammals!" Spiral said. "We'd also take Arakko, as they split off from the same entity."

"Krakoa went to the White Hot Room! It's not alive!" Emma protested.

"Just because it's in another dimension it isn't alive?" Spiral said. "If that's the case I have some bad news for you Emma."

"Fine," Emma grumbled, arms crossed again. "What's the next question?"

"Okay, final question. For all the marbles." Spiral said. "Why is the origin of the name X-Men?"

"That's easy," Emma said before stopping herself. It was too easy. This had to be a trick. She put her hand to her chin and started to think hard.

"I'm gonna need an answer," Spiral said.

"Screw it. It's named that because it was founded by Charles Xavier." Emma said, going with her gut answer. Again, a loud buzzer noise rang out in the room.

"I'm sorry, but that is your second strike." Spiral said. "The actual answer is because, quote 'they have ex-tra power.'"

"Seriously?" Emma said.

"Yes, straight from the bald horse's mouth," Spiral said.

"He's so full of shit." Emma said.

"Ha ha. Maybe so, but you're still wrong." Spiral said. "That means you have to choose a punishment case dear."

"Don't call me dear," Emma said, raising a finger.

"Fine slut," Spiral said. "Now pick a case."

"Does it even matter? It's all random." Emma said.

"Pick. A. Case." Spiral said through clenched teeth.

"Alright, alright. Let's go with the lucky number 7." Emma said.
