How to clean up?
With the new stuff
Having set the coven on a demiplane that grows all the food they'll need and then some, I consider cleanup. Three dead corpses, the van, and a John Smith.
Well… I do have that new ability to make tech to try out… I store the van in Extradimensional Storage, the summon inside in Extradimensional Torpor, and the John Smith in the same. For the three bodies, Fabricate Arms gets me a Macergate Dissolver, which I fire a few times onto the bodies. It's… not as effective as I hoped, but eventually gets the job done. I toss the weapon in my Extradimensional Storage for later (it's permanent…) and mess around with other recent options: A Mark II Gnomish anytool, a portable grinder… and then I smile. Tech gear of any level, it just takes a while.
So I go into a Magnificent Mansion and get started: Step one: Full strength Solar via Simulacrum. Step two: Give her twenty ranks in Engineering, Computers, and Mysticism via Attuned Mysticism(Outsider) and Enable Function (Open Mind). Step three: Fabricate Tech for a portable Grinder. Step four: Fabricate Tech a hundred times for a hundred Negligible Bulk Swarmproof Bangles. Step six: grind them all into polyfluid, getting sixty five thousand UPBs worth of poly fluid. Repeat steps five and six until I have enough Poly fluid for what I actually want to build, and turn that (and a Gnomish Anytool) over to the Solar to do the actual construction.
The minion qualifies to make the thing, and poly fluid is usable as UPBs. If it wasn't for Technological Wonders, this wouldn't work: All the stuff would vanish before it was done grinding down to polyfluid.
So I get weapons: A nice Paragon Reaction Cannon for laying down the hurt at medium range, a Paragon Kin-Killer rifle for when I need **** range (almost three miles… and if I need to get more, the Accuracy and Hawkeye spells are easy to copy), and a Dimensional Slice Curve Blade for when I get up close and personal. A couple magic items: Weapon fusions for all of the weapons (Energized for both ranged weapons because it means they hold over twice as much ammunition, then various energy fusions so I have some flexibility in case of immunities), a Ruby Sphere Aeon stone (it's basically a telepathic computer and smart phone that's upgradeable… and I order it fully upgraded because that costs nothing but a little time) and a Pearly White Spindle Aeon stone (it's grants a small boost to caster level, always handy for a caster). Most of the other items I can duplicate via spells… and I'm somewhat regretting not being able to use armor now: Starfinder armor is tough stuff (mostly because that game cuts down on available bonuses significantly, but still). It's still good for other people (and ‘people’), however… so I also order up a number of different sets of armor, armor upgrades, weapons, weapon fusions, vehicles, and tools (made with special materials), vehicles, and upgrades for the vehicles to hand out to friends and minions.
No, no real reason: It's just fun.
While they're building, I also work out an improved buff list: By using Fell Energy on Channel the Mishti, and getting a roll of six on the die by way of Divine Providence, I can boost my caster level by three. Doing similarly on the Harmonic Chorus spell gets me another four… which puts me in range of the caster level boosting option of Create Magic Tattoo. Now, that particular spell isn't compatible with Fell Energy… but it explicitly self stacks up to three copies. That gives me a caster level of eighteen for anything out of my Vancian style casting (it doesn't work for Spheres of Power or my domain-based spell-like abilities, sadly). I can improve that by a further two points for specific spells due to qualifying for Arcane Thesis; I use Enable Function to give myself a copy of the feat for every spell I know… which means I have a general caster level of twenty… twenty one with the Aeon stone (or twenty-three when I use Wild Arcana).
It also gives me a thin excuse to go visit Detective Richards and his wife… or is that husband, now? I have a guess as to why the spells on them didn't go away, and I want to check that. One Fractured Dimension usage later, I'm at his door, an illusion of myself in some clothes over my body, and ringing the doorbell.
Ms. Richards answers, face a little flushed, wearing a yellow sundress. My spell-enhanced nose tells me she's enjoying the modifications to her form… actively… and has been for a while, “Oh! Hello Dan. Are you out of hiding, then?” I also don't see her old form under my running Glimpse of Truth spell… which tells me a few things.
“Yes. My healers scattered around are keeping the BMM QUITE busy.” Fortunately, they are very easy to replace… and come out stronger now: I even qualify for Regenerating Companion, so the replacements just get back up when shot, provided the shot isn't either positive or negative energy.
“Nice… what brings you here?” She steps back, giving me space to enter the house.
I do so as I answer, “Oh, a couple of things. First, I have a little gear for your husband; something to help him catch the bad guys while staying safe.” Specifically an Elite Gyrojet Pistol, with the Energetic fusion (so it uses a battery rather than rockets… let's it carry more shots, and a Swarm battery will recharge itself), Merciful (he's a cop: Handing him a weapon that can both put holes in steel plate and knock a perp down without killing him seems like a good call), Tattoo (turns the weapon into a tattoo, making it easy to transport), Bane(Humans) to sometimes Stun people he hits, and Called so he doesn't need to worry if someone grabs it, he can just get it back. Also some Specialist Hardlight Armor with Adamantine threads to make him a little harder to hurt, Enviro Sensors in case of gas attacks or drowning, a glamor projector so it can look like a suit or uniform as needed, Vibration Sensors to give him something like eyes in the back of his head, a Shadow Sprint unit for when he needs to retreat or travel, a Lightwarp Inlay for when he needs to be invisible (doesn't last long, though), a Longstrider module to make him a little faster, and a Silicone Armor Casing so he can do a desert forever if needed. Also a few more buffs….
“Second, I continue, I wanted to check something to see why the spells I cast on him didn't go away when I…” I pause, “ah ...went into hiding. It occurred to me you would be able to help with that last one too, if you're willing.”
“Yeah, sure; what do I need to do?” She sits down on her living room couch, starting to pant slightly.
“Nothing much, just let me touch…” She pushes her chest forward into my hand, and I focus for a moment to dismiss the Alteration I placed on her.
I have my answer immediately; her chest doesn't deflate, her waistline doesn't spread back out, and she's obviously still working her extra limb in and out of herself: This is her now, which matches what Glimpse of Truth already told me. Pity I can't check the other buffs spells as easily due to their lack of obvious effects combined with them no longer being ‘magic’… but I do add some buffs as a simple excuse to keep groping her.
Not that I need an excuse, she is VERY much cooperating.
“That's about what I expected,” I confirm when I'm done… I don't move my hand, though, other than to keep massaging that massive milk maker, “Good news and bad. Which do you want first?”
“Good news, I think,” she licks her lips.
“This is the real you now,” I shrug, “my spell did go away, but your body grabbed hold of the effects.”
“Nice…” she smiles, “...and what's the bad news?”
I spy her meat member, still dripping with her own juices, snaking out from under her dress, and cast a third party spell on myself: Block the Seed. I'd rather not get pregnant, than you. “The same folks hunting me will likely go after you if they find out… although they are QUOTE focused on me for now.” No, I don't stop her trouser snake, why would I? That thing feels awesome.
I just don't want there to be consequences.
However, she deflates when she hears that, snaking her trouser titan back into her hidey hole. “They're after me, too?”
“Probably not yet,” I try to reassure her, “They'd need to find out by some path first, and right now they're…” I pause as one of my minions reports in, and I specifically tell her NOT to dodge the bullet when it comes, I want to know if positive and negative energy was the right choice, “...very, very busy. I'm working towards replacing them with something a little less horrific, at least in the US. Until I finish that, however…”
“Keep mum, duly noted,” the woman swallows. “So no flying, and only use the eye lasers if I think I'm going to die.” She frowns, “...which means I need to heat my coffee in the microwave again.”
I'd try that, but I haven't felt the need to eat or drink since… well… “basically, yeah. Do you happen to know where Detective Richards is, or when he's going to be home?”
“Richard has been out and about a lot lately,” his wife chuckles, “Seems he recently became VERY good at reading people and talking them around to telling him what he wants to know. He's been knocking out cold cases like nobody's business.”
I blink, “Wait… he's a detective, named Richard, with the last name of Richards?”
“Yes, his nickname ended up being ‘4D’ because of that,” the wife chuckles, “and his real one. So I guess right now he's ‘3D’?”
Heh. “Joking aside, would you mind texting him? I have some gear to give, and can upgrade his boosts. No rush.”
“Why don't you do so?” She frowns.
“I lost my phone as part of faking my ****,” Well… technically not faking it… “I suppose if you have his email, I could contact him that way.” The summon gets back to me: Yes, the new Regeneration works against the bullets. Good thing I got them all Diehard so they can keep moving when in the negatives.
“Oh, yeah, here…” she hands me a business card, “He mostly uses them to hand out to witnesses or victims in case they remember anything else.”
I look at the card, nod, and use my new telepathic computer to log into my email…
Where there's a message waiting, from my own account, that I didn't write….
What's it say?
