Stephanie walks into the area and stands before Vatarie. "You'll fight no more." The silence emanating from everyone was deafening.

Vatarie's aura was confused, angry and suffused with her battle lust. "Why?" She whined as her the magic around her hands and feet remained coalesced.

"Because you are going to kill someone. And I won't allow that to happen while you are my student." Stephanie's plain words undercut the reality of what she just said. It caused Vatarie to clench her fists slightly.

"I-"

"Nearly killed a student during the last elimination, and almost killed on of Princess Mary's personal guard without even thinking about it." Stephanie nods at the guard Vatarie had knocked out, only just regaining consciousness and looking very pale. "Had that been anyone else you would have killed them, and the only reason you were unable was because you didn't have the magic to do so. At you current rate you will kill someone on accident because you of your inability to control yourself in combat."

Vatarie looked like she was going to argue back when she was interrupted. "My Lady," Mary's voice was followed by her joining the pair in the area. "My guard chose to fight, to deny them the consequences would be not teach them anything, was facing the consequences of a decision not one of your lessons."

"This has nothing to do with your guard, if they want a fight Christopher will accommodate them, but Lady Vatarie will not be fighting anymore today." Stephanie answer was as much a challenge to Mary as it was to her guard. Your involvement was a bit uncalled for but the invocation of you put everyone back a step.

Mary looked at you. Then at Stephanie and a slowly calming down Vatarie. "Does anyone wish to challenge Lord Christopher?" Mary asked her guard. Lady Vatarie, when we are finished her I want to speak with you." Mary returned to her previous position.

Stephanie leaned over to whisper into Vatarie's ear. Vatarie's aura grew dark as whatever was said to her cut into her confidence. When Stephanie stood up Vatarie's face was a mask of carefully held vacancy. She returned to her place and you heard Ana whisper to her but couldn't pick up on what was said.

With that sorted out Stephanie call up the next student.

The remaining duels were largely one sided. Only number Five was able to win one of their rounds, everyone else lost, though the fights were a lot closer than everyone had expected, especially the students. It was hard to appreciate how far you had come without an actual fight as a guide post. If they'd had this fight a few weeks ago everyone would have been crushed, except for Asune, and maybe Ana, and you.

Stephanie called and end to the training by having each victorious guard stand by the students they defeated. "Greet your teach for next week. if you can't defeat each of them by next Friday, you will be removed from my class. Vatarie come with me." She walked away and after a moment Vatarie hurried after her. The students looked at the guards that would be teaching them. The intimidation factor was palpable for most of them, these were battle hardened veterans and now in a week they had to be overcome.

You felt kinda left out. But on the other hand you had a sky steel sword to find so having some free time after class could only help. Provided Stephanie wasn't running her classes on top of the guard training. The arena started to empty and Mary appeared at your side. "I've talking with my mother," she opened causally, "I'll be staying at the academy's estate." She bit her lip and very unsubtly checked you out.

"Really?" Ana's excited question was then covered with a clearing of her throat. "If that is the case we'll need to have a room fitted to your desires."

Mary checked you out once more and grinned. "I need to talk with my Guard and Lady Vatarie. I'm sure you'll get everything ready for me when I get there." Mary returned to her guards and together walked off. You looked at Ana and then saw Asune behind her, looking at you expectantly. She must be anticipating a reward following her fights. You could also wait around for Vatarie. She was with Stephanie now and Mary shortly afterwards but if there was ever a time be with her it would be after she was told her recklessness towards combat was going to make her kill one of the other students.
