Monday morning

You spend the rest of the weekend frantically calling but it goes straight to voicemail. You text *call me* or some variation several times with no answer. The jealousy and worry ruin your weekend. It's only when you park your car and head to the coffee shop, hoping to see your girlfriend Eve's beautiful face, that your phone vibrates. It's Eve!

"Hey John I'm so sorry, I forgot my charger over the weekend so my phone died," she speaks before you can say anything. You hear some rustling on the other end. "We got back so late last night that I just plugged it in and fell asleep at home, but I overslept, so I might be a couple minutes late to class. Love you!"

You mumble something to try to interject but you hear her making kissing noises into the phone as she hangs up. You can't help but feel hurt, how can't she see how this would make you feel? What was that rustling on the other end? Her getting her stuff together for class or...was it the professor and her in bed? Jealousy gets your feet moving as you rush to class to see if they're both late.
