What's next?
Walking and thinking
You were up and about the next morning and were greeted to a large spread of pancakes, French toast and several pieces of crispy bacon. “You seemed like you might need it,” your mom suggested, smiling sweetly.
The food was good and the cup of coffee to wash it down did you a world of wonders as you left the house and started working on your next move. You would have to attack at Mayor Chapman’s weak points, which meant his public dealings. But how could you do that? The historical society made the most sense, close as it was to Town Hall. Perhaps you might be able to sneak inside come night time and then move across the adjoining path and into Chapman’s office. There was sure to be dirt you could use, even if only the slightest piece. Any chink in the armour could be exploited.
You were lost in your thoughts, wandering the streets of town in the morning light. Perhaps an hour went by and you found that your mindless wanderings had brought you in front of the old library. For several moments you stood there, debating whether to go inside.
“Mr Maywood!”
The voice snapped you from your daze, and you turned to see a familiar face.
