Morning excursions (POV: Mom)

After taking the time to get dressed with a simple blouse and jean shorts, you looked at your phone and nodded at the time, figuring that it wouldn't be fair to leave people hanging on a first impression date (or had it been first impressions? You didn't tell your daughter that you had spent several hours walking and talking with Keith, the two of you enjoying each other's company at the poolside bar after she ducked back in the room yesterday afternoon. You had also gotten his number and in the evening, she probably assumed you were texting your husband, something that you often did.

You didn't really feel the need to dissuade her from that idea.

Still, as you hopped off the elevator on the lobby, your eyes scanned over the mingling adults heading towards the restaurant, before you spotted him standing there, by the pillar next to the fountains, and smiled. "Hey, sorry for keeping you waiting..."

He smiled, offering his arm which you pleasantly took, and led you into the restaurant. "Where's your daughter?"

"She's going to rest in the room and then go looking for some people her age to hang out with." You were led by the wait staff to a table for two near the pooldeck and after taking a seat, looked over the menu at your companion. "Figured we can discuss what to do afterwards?"
