Amy stared at the options in front of her with trepidation. The first one was the most frightening of the three considering how open-ended it was. Any random words could be forgotten in the blink of an eye? And what if it was something essential like food? She didn't want any more mental changes if she could avoid them. Still holding her phone, she was startled by a ringing from an incoming call. It was her boss, Chris, who appeared on the caller ID. "Hi Chris, what's up?"

"Amy? You were supposed to clock in twenty minutes ago! Where are you?!" he asked angrily.

"Oh yeah, I'm late, aren't I? I'm on my way over right now. It'll take me about fifteen minutes to drive over. I can't wait to see you! Bye!"

Without waiting for a response, she hung up. Chris had seemed irritated with her, but she wasn't exactly sure why. It must have something to do with her recent behavior, but she'd have to worry about it later. She should probably get over there to work her shift soon. She inserted her car key, turned on the engine, and waited. And waited...

"I can't get my car to go. Do you know what could be wrong with it?" she said abruptly.

"Amy, if you think you can make an excuse like that after you already missed the start of your shift, you must think I'm an idiot! Get over here or I'm marking you a no-call no-show!" he yelled.

"I'm serious! I can't get my car to take me to work! This thing on my phone..."

"I don't care, just get someone to drive you over here in the next hour or I'm calling someone to pick up your shift and marking you absent."

This time it was Chris's turn to hang up the phone. He was such an idiot! She was always being micro-managed by a guy who didn't come close to her intelligence. It wasn't just because she was angry, she realized Chris had always been stupid. It was just one thing she hated about working a job that she viewed as beneath her. He'd rather bark at her than actually help at all. Then again, the one thing he had said did help her to think about one of her newest punishments. "Get someone to drive you..." What did that mean? She didn't trust this guy to be much help, but maybe he could answer what it meant to "drive" her.
