Continue to the Sexy Vendor
As we approached, Myka cleared her throats politely. The woman turned, and I swear, even with the fluorescent lights washing out most colors in this place, she radiated an almost otherworldly glow. She was tall and lean, dressed in a black velvet dress and latex corset that clung to her curves like liquid night. Her skin had a porcelain smoothness that seemed too perfect for human flesh, and her eyes – wide-set chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent shivers down my spine. "Patience, that is truly what you need," she said, her gaze lingering on me for just a beat too long. "All good things come to those who wait."
Her eyes flicked back to Myka then, and the smile tightened ever so slightly. “Especially when they’re willing to share.”
Myka shifted uncomfortably under that look. I knew she was picking up on something – probably sensing the vampire vibe off this woman in spades. But before either of us could say anything else, a loud crash echoed through the hall, followed by panicked shouts and scrambling feet.
“What the…” Myka started to ask, but then her eyes widened as she saw what had caused the commotion. A hulking figure clad in full Iron Man armor was barreling towards our table, its head snapping back and forth like a confused robot dog trying to find its owner. It crashed into the display case behind the vampire woman, sending glass shards flying everywhere.
The crowd gasped, then erupted into a cacophony of excited chatter as people scrambled out of the way. The Iron Man figure lurched again, this time knocking over several tables and scattering merchandise across the floor like confetti. It was clearly malfunctioning – its arm flailed wildly, sending miniature Star Wars lightsabers spinning through the air.
“Oh, for crying out loud,” I muttered, already reaching for my foam sword. “Just another Tuesday at Comic-Con.”
