Chapter 6 by Deathjump90 Deathjump90

how we should approach the next step of our mission.

(Evil Choice) We have a prisoner/stowaway, we can offer them to the birds

(Originally written by Hoarder2)

It too much of a risk for me at the time. While I had assembled a small and experienced security around me, the birds had been seen ravaging adrenaline junkies with IQs the size of peas within a few countable seconds. Their speed was unpredictable, leaving on land approach unusable.

The sound system was potentially useful, but if they had retained their savage nature, all we'd be doing is exposing ourselves to the beasts. And unfourtanrly, our robotics expert had drunken himself into a stupor.

Fourtantly, my employers had thought of this.

"Gentlemen," I begun, "clearly we risk much with this. I would suggest a parley with the beasts, if you catch my meaning."

Gregory, my socially dimwitted assistant, rubbed his neck in a sheepish manner. Clearly, he did not catch my meaning.

"Uh, sir, Jones is drunk. No way he can get the robot movin' for a few hours at best...a week at worst."

My guards sniggered at this, brushing past him to the boat's insides to grab a very special package, as it were. I sighed, looking towards Gregory with a tired glance to.

"Gregory, my dear boy, sometimes to gain what we want, a more appreciated gift is better than a simple camera. And if they truly are violent as we've been told, then I believe they will appreciate this."

Gregory became confused untill the sounds of screeching were heard, and a brother and sister duo in handcuffs were escorted onto the deck by the security, my own face remaining stonelike but Gregory's becoming pale.

"These two were caught trying to steal from my superiors. Rather than simply have them arrested, I believed they would be better as tools of diplomacy."

"...you're going to use them as sacrifices?!"

I regret the words I used at the time. Future view allows me to see, my lust for a potential ally bljnded me towards what I was actually doing. But said what I said, I did.

"Frankly, they'd be of better use this way."

Giving a nod to the muscled bodyguard, I watched as he grunted, tying a note to appreciate these gifts to the siblings before throwing the two onto the island.

Their legs weren't tied as their hands were, as they ran into the jungle, either in fear or acceptance of their fate.

I despise myself seeing the look on Gregory's face, but at the time, I believed the cost would be worth it.

I did not expect what happened next.
