Eve of Summer

I step back, catching Vi easily. Despite her curves and assets, she is a very light lady; her legs wrap tightly around me as she nuzzles into my neck. The other students leaving their exam give us a mix of quizzical, jealous, and pissed looks as they walk past.

“Ahhhh, thank you for picking me up, you’re such a sweet boy.” She coos as she drops back down to the pavement.
I shrug. “Oh, you know me, I’m just the best boyfriend in the world and you’re lucky to have me.”
She bumps her shoulder into mine before smoothly linking her arm through mine.
“Ok, Mr. best boyfriend in the world, and I’m so lucky to have you... Do you have something planned for us to do, to celebrate me finishing my exams on this beautiful Thursday evening?”
I nod. “Of course I’m the best boyfriend in the world and -” She cuts me off with a cute laugh, squeezing my arm. ‘Okay, okay! I get it!”

Before I can tell her what the night entails, Max walks around the corner, he meets my eyes, and then Vi. A slow grin spreads across his face. It seems his reservations are slowly melting away. Did he break up with his girlfriend?
He approaches us and does a bare minimum acknowledgement in my direction before turning to Vi. “Hey Vi. How’d you find that exam?”
She doesn't let go of me. “Honestly, easy. Out of all my subjects, this was the one I had the most confidence in, you?”
He shrugs. “It’s not my strong suit, as you know, of course, that’s why you had to give me that extra motivation on Saturday.”
Jealousy boils my blood, but I say nothing. His reservations are definitely gone; surely he has to be single to be this public about it. He glances at me before continuing.
“I was going to get some drinks to cool off. You two want to join?”

Disappointment washes over me. Mixed with jealousy, lust, anticipation, and acceptance. I go to respond, but Vi does first.

“Mayne another night, I’m hanging out with my boyfriend tonight.” She presses herself closer to me.
My heart aches with love and happiness.
Max seems confused, he seemed almost certain that Vi would push to go with him instead of hang with me. “Oh. Yeah. Sure. All good, I’ll be at the Chucks bar if you change your mind.”

Vi smiles and waves as she pulls me away.

“Vi...”
She looks up at me. “What?”
“I love you so fucking much.”
She grins.
“Well, yeah, of course you do. I’m the best girlfriend in the world, and you’re so lucky to have me.”

She lifts my hand and kisses a knuckle.

“Don’t think I’d rather spend time with Max than you. He's the equivalent of a toy, babe.” She winks. “Besides, we do things on my schedule, not some man. A blonde man at that!” She negs excitedly.
“Now, tell me what’s on the agenda tonight?"
