January Week 3: Monday

It was Monday, the third week of January into the second semester.

Leah drove to work that Monday morning, her mind preoccupied with the difficult situation Mr. Howard had put her in. As she pulled into the teacher's parking lot, she took a deep breath to collect herself before heading into the school.

She walked briskly to her classroom, setting her bag down on the desk and booting up her computer. While it started up, she began writing the day's agenda on the whiteboard for her students. Her first class would be starting soon.

Leah sat down at her desk, opened her email, and began scrolling through. Her phone buzzed with a new text message. It was from Mr. Howard:

"Leah, come see me in my office during your planning period. Don't be late."
