“I'd be happy to take your grandma to her appointments or help out around the house if you need it.”
Tyrone and his grandma exchanged a look before he turning back to look at you. “Thank you,” he said gratefully. “That would be great.”
Grandma nodded in agreement. “Yes, It would be nice to have some female company.” you could tell the stubborn elderly black woman wasn't thrilled with the idea but was happy to go along with it for Tyrone.
You smile back at her, with a small smirk. “Well, I'd be happy to help out,” you add.
He looks at you, clearly touched by your offer. “Thank you,” he repeated. “That's really kind of you.”
You wave a hand dismissively. “Don't be silly,” you say. “It's the least I can do.”
The three of you sat in silence for a few moments, sipping your drinks. You can't help but steal glances at Tyrone. You're amazed by his kindness and dedication to his grandma. It was clear that he loved her very much and was willing to do anything to make sure she was happy and comfortable.
As you watch him, you can't help but feel a pang of attraction. He was so handsome and kind, and the way he looked after his grandma was so endearing. You find yourself wondering what it would be like to be taken care of by him, to have him look at you with the same love and devotion that he showed his grandma.
You shake your head slightly, trying to push the thoughts away. I'm being ridiculous, you told yourself. You're old enough to be his mother. But as you watch him laughing and joking with his grandma, you can't deny the flutter in her stomach.
“Are you okay, Brenda?” Tyrone asked, noticing your expression.
You quickly compose herself and smiled at him. “Yes, I'm fine,” you reply. “Just enjoying the conversation.”
He smiles back at you and you feel your heart skip a beat. You need to get a grip, you tell yourself. This was ridiculous. I'm here to help, I was only giving him and that silly mut a lift, what am I getting myself into?
“Why don't you show Brenda around? I'm sure she'd love to see the place.”
Tyrone looked hesitant for a moment but then nodded. “Sure, Grandma,” he said before turning to you. “Would you like a tour?”
You smiled at him, grateful for the distraction. “That would be lovely,” you said, standing up.
Tyrone leads you out of the living area and down a short hallway. He pushed open a door at the end. “This is my grandma's room,” he said, gesturing inside.
You step inside and look around. The room was small but cozy, with a single bed pushed up against the wall. There was a small chest of drawers next to the bed and a comfortable-looking armchair in the corner. A bookshelf was against the wall, filled with well-read books and family photos.
“It's lovely,” you say sincerely.
“Thanks,” he said with a small smile. “My grandma spends most of her time in here.”
You nod and turn to look at him. “It must be hard for her, Being stuck in this room all the time.” Trying to talk quietly so she doesn't hear
Tyrone shrugged. “She doesn't seem to mind,” he said. “But I try to get her out as much as I can. It's not always easy though.”
You reach out and touched his arm gently. “I can imagine,” you say softly. “But you're doing a great job. She's lucky to have you.”
He looks at you gratefully. “Thanks,” he said again.
You drop your hand and took a step back, feeling a little awkward. “So, What's through there?” You ask
You point to another door at the far end of the room. Tyrone follows yours gaze and then looked back at you. “That's just the bathroom,” he said.
“Oh,” feeling a little disappointed. You had been hoping for something more exciting.
Tyrone must have sensed your disappointment because he suddenly grinned. “But if you want,” he said teasingly. “I can show you my room.”
You raise an eyebrow. “Your room?” you ask.
He nodded, still grinning. “Yeah, it's just down the hall.”
Do you follow him to his room?
