After a bit of time looking over his lesson plans, Byleth walked down the halls and found Edelgard and Hubert talking in an empty classroom in hushed tones. "Honstly, I strongly considered returning to the capital, but it's too soon for that," he overheard. "There are too many things left to do here..."

"I agree, Lady Edelgard," Hubert nodded. "Though our "friends" may soon make a move, owing to recent developments..."

"We'll just have to try to talk them down," Edelgard said, and was about to continue, before Hubert spotted Byleth.

"Professor? Did you need something?" Hubert asked as he crossed his arms, his expression wary.

"Yes, though, may I ask what you were both discussing?" Byleth inquired, stepping fully into the classroom. "I didn't mean to overhear, but I was looking for Edelgard."

"It's nothing important," Edelgard replied, though Byleth had the feeling she wasn't being fully honest with him. "Merely politics, as tiresome as they are. Now, what were you hoping to discuss?" she asked him.

Byleth replied, "Well, I heard that Ingrid and Leonie were looking to transfer classes. I was wondering if you had potential issues with that before I decided on whether to accept such a request."

"I'm glad you're involving me in such decisions. And no, I don't have a problem with either one of them. Though I would personally prefer Leonie if it came down to a choice between them to join our class."

"Really?" Byleth asked, raising an eyebrow. "That's surprising. Given that Ingrid is a noble, and Leonie is a commoner, I would have assumed you were more interested in political gains from rubbing shoulders with Ingrid."

Edelgard smirked. "Maybe in the short term, there would be more benefit, but I have certain goals and ambitions that Leonie is better suited for." Hubert glanced at Edelgard in some concern, worried she might say too much, too soon.
