Chapter 5

What’s next?
Levi wakes up, with someone waiting on him.
Levi groaned, feeling a bit stiff as he sat up in his hospital bed.
As his eyes adjusted to the dim light shining down from above, and the steady beeps of his heart-rate monitor was the only noise that filled his ears.
He looked down at himself, completely naked aside from the papery green hospital gown covering his front half.
The memory of the crash came back to him, with everything becoming a blur as soon as impact was made. He winced, clutching his thighs with both hands as he remembered the pain he was in before dozing off back to sleep. Then, he realized that he felt completely fine.
He was sure that bones had broken in more places than he could count, but as he gently wriggled his body, Levi just felt a bit sluggish at worst.
Turning to his side at the sound of a soft snore, he saw his mother sitting in a chair located in the corner of the room to his left with her arms crossed.
His heart thumped hard and several emotions began to surface, a mix of surprise, sadness, and anger, but it all shifted into a state of worried confusion as he remembered being woken up by a strange doctor.
The entire incident came rushing back to him. The man had told him that his friend’s brain was now in his mother’s body, and that he had done something to both of them that he didn’t quite understand. Hell, nothing about that encounter made sense to him, and he almost dismissed it as the fever dream he hoped it was.
However, seeing his mom sitting in a hospital and waiting for him to wake up was almost just as unbelievable.
His mom, or her body at least, was different from when he last saw her. She was wearing a pair of shiny black leather pants that clung to her long legs and plump thighs very nicely, and she had on a shimmering golden V-neck shirt of shorts, which showed off the rounded cleavage of two very large fake breasts that she most certainly didn’t have when she bailed on him. Aside from that, big golden hoop earrings dangled from her ears, their top halves hidden by the frazzled platinum blonde hair draped across her shoulders, and her makeup was a bit shoddy, with dried mascara smeared around her eyes as if she’d been crying for some time.
Levi barely recognized her, in truth.
Not quite sure of what to say, or who he was about to address, Levi cleared his throat a couple of times to wake her. After the third time, the bimbo began to stir. Her eyes fluttered open, and she turned to meet Levi’s gaze.
“Dude!” She said, which gave Levi his answer. “You’re awake!”
“Y-Yeah…” He said, concern and confusion written all over his face. “Dave?”

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
