Does Caleb mess with the dial?

He accidentally sets it to Affinity/Contemporary.

As Caleb adjusted the watch, Sophie perked up before him.

"Oh, finally, I think he might like this one," she murmured as she grabbed a patchy light green sweater with some modernist geometric design on the front of it.

Meanwhile, next to her, Caleb looked at his wrist device like an archaeologist on overtime.

Let's see, he circled his finger around the wheel of the watch until the big hand started moving down. Got it. Now how about...

12:30, the teen finished, drawing his fingers away from the dial. The short hand now rested below the top N, and its bigger brother on the opposite. Should be close enough. It wasn't. But it somehow seemed funny to see a pointless watch like this be churned out by some suit to put on some nobody's wrist, and he entertained the idea. It was almost growing on him.

He shook his head and chuckled. He wasn't sure what he had been ready to assume at first. But if nothing else, it was a solid conversation starter.

"Hey," he began, "Sophie, you want to know what time it--"

"Yes, Caleb, that would be great."

Caleb felt a warm body press up against him. It took only a second before he realized that was Sophie slightly pushing on him, her chest barely grazing the side of his arm as she stood much closer by than a minute ago. A look in her eye was there that he didn't notice before either. It looked like she was actually paying attention to him.

Her eyes turned down to the watch.

"Nice watch, Cal-man," she placed a a hand on his left shoulder and stood on her tiptoes just for a little boost, her hair tickling his cheek. She wasn't that much shorter than him -- they were roughly the same height.

But Caleb said nothing, only enjoying the sensation of a positive beauty of a girl pushing her body against his while she grabbed his wrist. She pulled it forward to look at the display.

"Caleb this is an awesome watch."

He turned his face to hers. He could have sworn he saw a brief light of some kind bounce off the glass cover. Sophie's gaze was casual but serious. "Er, you think so?" he pressed.

"Yes."

Well, sounded like honesty if he'd heard it.

"Are you just saying this to get me to go away and stop looking at your butt?" Caleb joked before he could cut his running mouth short and leave it with the rest of the pile. "Er, don't take it the wrong way."

"Oh ha-ha, butt lover," the young woman only rolled her eyes, causing her lashes to flutter across the tips of her bangs, and lightly pushed his arm. Then she stepped back and turned her around, then wiggled her ass at him. "Like what you see, Cal? Go on," she pushed it out to him, bending over at about forty-five degrees, "Look as much as you want. I really don't mind."

Caleb stood there uncertain, gaping at the originally mild-mannered girl's sudden change of behavior.

"You could slap it if you want, too, you know."

She was looking at him without a single glimmer of bait. Only the friendly kind, anyhow.

Eyes back to the ass in front of him, Caleb stretched out his hand.

"Psyche!" suddenly the girl straightened herself and turned to face Caleb. Her look was one of playfulness. "You thought I was just going to let you go to town with my butt didn't you? Well, sorry to pop your bubble, Caleb, but I'm not that easy." She broke into a clean, slithering smile. "But of course, let's say you just happened to slip your hand down there while I wasn't looking." The girl shrugged, turning back around and flipping through some other compilation of clothes while throwing the sweater she'd picked up over her shoulder. "Not much I can do about that..."

In Caleb's mind he was certifiably perplexed with how crazy she sounded. Talking to a stranger like him, like that, like it was Tuesday night at his place later. He felt himself grow hard again. Nuts indeed.

Stepping forward, he grabbed her ass and rubbed it with both his hands. He looked up to see Sophie's face turned towards him, smiling.

"Believe me now?"

"Well, like you said," Caleb said after a couple more seconds of getting to know her bottom, "It's a way of saying hi or being friendly, right?"

"Well, yeah," she agreed, "Only a quick pat or squeeze, of course. But no girl in their right mind would allow some stranger to just grope their butt for half a minute."

"Oh." The teen stepped back and cleared his throat. "Sophie."

"What's up?" She said, her face directed forward.

"You're not pulling my leg are you?"

Sophie turned to him, noting the tone in his voice, and folded her arms. "What do you mean?"

"This whole ass thing, and you letting me 'go to town' with yours," Caleb gestured, as if it was obvious. "You know! The way you're treating certain things much more casually than people normally would!"

"Caleb, it's alright," she reassured, looking genuine as she approached and patted his arm. "What do you need me to do to earn your trust? I'll do anything within reason."

She looked into Caleb's pupils.

He wasn't sure if she even knew what he was talking about. But with one look into her eyes, and he knew that this was abnormal -- and not just abnormal, but something he was responsible for, and just witnessed right before his eyes in the transitioning of Sophie's personality. Something -- what? -- happened and it was after he adjusted the hand on his watch. But whatever it was, it was making this pretty woman unnaturally... friendly with him.

Holy crap. As his thoughts began to level, he realized the implications of that. Of what he was saying.

He may not know the exact specifics yet, but he had just stumbled across a magical watch.

What to do with Sophie?
