Chapter 8 by pad03 pad03

How does Annette heal Victor?

Save the mana, this can be handled with a tourniquet

With appropriate urgency, Annette grabbed hold of the base of her blouse and tore a large strip off, exposing her stomach to the cool night breeze. Falling to her knees, she wraps the cloth around above the wound on Victor's leg and pulls it as tight as she could, preventing further blood loss. Impulsively, she quickly gave Victor a kiss on the cheek, an act that against all odds, put a smile on his tired face.

Clearing her throat awkwardly, she looked up and said...

"Right, that should keep him stable for now... Rosie, help him back to my house as fast as you can."

Annette returned to her feet and looked straight at the barkeep.

"Listen, at the top of the cupboard opposite the sink, I keep some medicine, including healing salves and bandages for emergencies. It should be clear on the hill now, I didn't see any others on my way here. I need to help the villagers trying to hold them back and do my part to defend our home."

Rosie repeated the instructions back to herself...

"Top of the cupboard, opposite the sink. Got it."

Walking the wounded man back to the hill, she looked back to the Priestess.

"Annette... Be careful out there, okay? These walking corpses seem to target women... gods, the fucking things I saw on the way here... if you see them... just run, okay? Promise me that you'll run?"

Needing absolutely no reminders of what these creatures wanted and trying not to rewind the disgusting events that transpired back at her house, Annette nodded back to the raven-haired woman...

"I promise. Be safe, you two."

She followed up with a weak smile before continuing further into the unknown.

Which route does she take?
