With Emma remotely watching over your family, you feel confident enough in their safety to focus on everyday hero life. It becomes almost like a regular job. Almost. Your little vigilante team becomes quite efficient at beating the bad-guys-of-the-week. Sometimes your pheromones alone are enough to subdue the less experienced criminals, and within minutes they're handing over their weapons and surrendering themselves without a single shot fired. The more veteran bad guys are another matter; it's almost impossible to get anywhere near a **** den without being pumped full of lead. Which is where Woodpecker and Foxgloves come into play, their strength and resilience allowing them to tank stab wounds and gunshots as if they're nothing. you and Artemis can provide ranged support, whilst Sparrow's telekinesis can be used to protect the two of you, yank the enemies' guns out of their hands, stop a car from escaping - basically anything. She's pretty overpowered, although that doesn't stop you worrying about the fact that she's as physically weak and **** as a normal human nineteen-year-old.

When you're not crime-fighting, the five of you are either training or relaxing. Holly soon teaches you all the basics of hand-to-hand combat - Ben in particular is quite terrifying to see, as his super-speed punches are now pretty much unblockable. You wonder if he could even give Ultragirl pause. Carly learns to manipulate her plant tendrils even when they're out of sight. But yeah - we both went through testing in parallel, but she took longer because they were trying to invent a material that could turn invisible with her. They must have finally managed it!"

The torrent of words ceases, and you ask, "Do you have some way of contacting her? We can see if she wants to join us."

"Yeah, I have her phone number!" says Ben excitedly. "I mean - I didn't ask her for her phone number, like for a date or anything, I got it from one of her friends... that sounds weird, doesn't it?
