“Susan, did you have a nice night?” James asked, perhaps trying to gauge her reaction to the show she gave us yesterday.

“Oh dear, were you worried about that lady? I think the gel has already begun to work!” Mom said, excited at the thought of boosting her immunity.

“Good, but it will still be months before we see any real results,” James said, a smile creeping across his face.

“I’m ready for that. But what do we have to do today?” Mom asked, looking at the bottle of gel still on our kitchen table.

“Today we are going to start a long-term step, the gel was just a warm-up to get the body ready for the ritual. Today we are going to start what my dad called the sweat training,” James said. James said.

“Sweat? Do we have to work out?” Mom asked confused. I just sat there, a mute spectator to the nonsense James was spouting.

He told us she was half right, he would work out the details later, but she would have to work up a sweat to make it work.

“I hope you will not be uncomfortable as this is a rather unpleasant but important step for the ritual,” James said, testing the waters.
