The proposal

"You want to do what now?" Walter gasped as he stared at his daughter. She had finally come home from college for vacation and just when he thought they'd spend some quality time together. She drops this request.

"It's just for a few days," Kayden told him. She had her thesis to write and she needed to collect some info, surely her inventor father could understand that.

"I'm not concerned about how long it is...I'm concerned about everything else." Walter told her. "Its still early on its testing phase. I'm barely through testing the human modification...and you want to do that. Do you have any idea how bad turning yourself into a...what is that thing again?" He asked.

"I haven't figured out an exact name for it, all I know is that its a newly discovered species of aquatic parasites." She announced. "Unfortunately all my samples died before I figured out there ideal conditions, which is why I need your help. Can you turn me into one of the parasites with your Ibod if I give you the dna samples?"

"I mean I could but...."

"Please dad....I know its risky but if I don't submit my thesis all my efforts will be for nothing," Kayden pleaded. Walter looked at his daughter and sighed...of course...the things he'd do for her.

"Fine sweet pea," He agreed.

"Thank you daddy," She smiled as she hugged her father. "Oh wait a minute....shoot...I forgot..." She broke the hug. "I was suppose to got to my bf 's funeral. Next week," She realized.

"You have a boyfriend?" Walter gasped. "Who?"

"I meant best friend dad, you know Nicole?"

"Ah," Walter sighed as he recalled. "So I take it you're gonna reschedule this experiment?"

"Absolutely not, I have to get this research over with," Kayden told him.

"You know you can't be in two place at once right," Walter told her.

"Maybe I don't have to," Kayden thought as she looked at her father.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Walter asked her.
