Chapter 19 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

Another pet?

A turtle.

There was a brief moment of silence, before a crash, as an absurdly large Dragon Turtle, a species already renowned for their titanic scale, splashed into the ocean beneath them.

The scale of the creature could not be understated. It was comparable with Greenland.

The shell of the Turtle was insanely large, over a quarter mile thick, with a tinge of draconic cinder shining through it.

Damon brought his entourage to land upon a section of the shell which stayed above the water, and after a few seconds, a mighty draconic maw neared him, resembling both a Brachiosaurus and an Alligator Snapping Turtle, though far larger than both.

It was approaching quickly, though with no aggression. It was looking down at him.

Damon Steel had been larger than any being he’d faced so far, but before this creature? He may as well be a Human.

But Damon wasn’t a mere Human any more, shifting his form greatly, abruptly growing to an immense ten thousand feet tall. Even then he was still a fragment of its size but that’d be enough.

Ember grew her form to fit his, but could hardly keep up, and Dirpe was still resting, utterly dwarfed and blanketed firmly against his body.

Damon reached his hand towards the maw of the immense creature. The creature reared its head back before abruptly following his hand.

Damon placed his hand against the maw of the colossal Dragon Turtle. He closed his eyes as the Turtle laid his head against his.

Suddenly, a scorching sensation appeared upon his body. Regardless of his resistances, it burned, though it wasn’t too great for him to handle.

Damon opened his eyes and looked towards his chest, finding an incorporeal tattoo of a familiar Dragon Turtle, making its way across his body as if it had a life of its own on the sea of his skin.

Damon was standing in his greatest Form yet, he closed his eyes for a brief moment of consideration, before making his decision.

“I, Damon Steel, the Dragon King, christen thee Terranis, the Continental Colossus.” His voice rang through the area, a mighty blare making its way thousands of miles away.

Terranis seemed happy with the name, as it began smiling in a giddy manner, though it was a bit disturbing, but it was still wonderful news for him.

Damon then released his absurd Form. While its might could be felt, it was quite uncomfortable, even after a mere ten minutes.

Back to a more manageable fifty feet tall, Damon began walking around the continental landmass that was his newest pet.

Damon abruptly used ten million mana, no specific skill he had in mind, and then he laid his hand upon the endless shell of Terranis.

And around his hand, the smallest sprout appeared, before he input another ten million mana, his intention for this grand.

As the mana finished absorbing, the small sprout began to spread and grow, and slowly a lush area was surrounding him, quickly spreading across the immense shell. Then, the starting sprout rocketed towards the sky. Resembling a certain beanstalk, it was a tree many hundreds of feet tall, a willow tree with branches reaching near two hundred feet down at its furthest.

Slowly, the branches formed cocoons, thousands of them in many different shapes and sizes.

After a few hours of walking about the newly blooming surroundings, the cocoons began drooping towards the shell, being lowered by silky strands from the mighty willow.

The thousands of cocoons began to wiggle, as many creatures made their way from them, there were hundreds if different species of creature her, but every one consisted of foliage and flowers, and he could even recognize a few Dryads, Topiary Guardians and Treants, though Damon realized the mighty willow in the center was a Treant as well.

Looking upward Damon could barely make out a feminine face smiling upon the bark of the titanic tree. It was a bit weird how small the face was compared to the rest of the tree.

As Damon was walking around, he was accompanied by many friendly of the floral creatures, some he discovered were capable of speech, many were not though.

Terranis began making his way towards a creature he had spotted for consumption, as Damon flew toward the face of the willow, and as he approached it, a large porch formed from the tree, before a door appeared, opening to a large home, one which brought a tear to Damon’s eyes, or would it be Clark’s.

Taking a look at the room, it was clear it was scanned from his memory, because, though it was far larger, and formed of wood, it was clearly modeled after his childhood home.

Damon saw the memorable staircase, and began walking through the rendition. And it was a good rendition, Damon decided.

He made his way towards his childhood bedroom, and was met with the same messy room he was familiar with. Overwhelmed by his surroundings, Damon walked slowly to his familiar bed, far larger than his actual first bed to fit his current form, and he laid down.

He pulled Ember from his shoulders and brought her form to lay beside him, he then affectionately covered Dirpe with his hand before falling asleep.

Any nightmares?
