The big reveal

"Very funny," said Susie, primly, as giggles swept through the crowd. She folded her arms, glared daggers at Ben Hoolihan in the front row (who seemed to be very amused about something) and said "How did you do that?"

"Magic."

"I don't believe you."

"Then you explain it. You were in the box."

Susie, who was now dressed as a sexy clown girl, in puffy yellow blouse, pink suspenders and rainbow-striped skirt, stamped her foot. She meant it to be authoritative, but she was also wearing rainbow-striped stockings and round red shoes, so it came off as something in between silly and adorable. "Where are my clothes?" she said.

"You're wearing them."

"I mean my real clothes."

"Hm. Were you wearing them when you entered the box?"

"Yes!"

"Then they must still be in there. Maybe you'd better go back in and have a look."

Susie hesitated. She didn't like the way the cheerleaders were smirking at her, and whispering things to each other behind their cupped hands. She didn't like the way the football players were grinning, or the smile on Doc Topper's face, or the laughter of the trio of Japanese schoolgirls sitting behind him. She glanced back over her shoulder at the vanishing cabinet.

It was funny, but she couldn't remember exactly what had happened in there.
