Somewhere Private

Randolph was going a bit wild. Aggressive. Cocky. He started hitting on Nadia. His breath smelt of ****.

“How about you and me go somewhere private?” He said.

Nadia cringed, “Uh…”

Alice stood up on the table, “Attention! Everyone! Neera will be here in five minutes! To positions!”

They turned off all the lights and stood in the hallway. Neera didn’t know why the hotel was closed today. She dug into her purse and took out a love heart key.

Opening the door it was dark.

Then the lights came on and she was hit by streamers and glitter, “Welcome back!” Everyone said in chorus.

“Holy fuck!” She said.

Neera should have expected that Alice would do something like this. Alice came over and gave Neera a big hug.

Neera smiled. It was good to see her familiar freckled face.

Alice turned and motioned everyone to come in. Group hug.

Nadia stayed behind. Shuffling her feet awkwardly. Neera met eyes with her. So that must be her…

All the attention was on Neera now. She was laughing and smiling. Catching up on gossip and relishing in nostalgic memories. Nadia smiled nervously. It was like the air changed a bit. She needed something to do…

Nadia noticed they were out of soda. She must have bought more and left it in the kitchen.

There! She went back to the kitchen and found the rest of the coke and sprite.
