Sail away!

The salty water sprays up from the sides. You take a deep breath in. The fresh, ocean breeze feels wonderful in your lungs. You're moving so quickly too, no matter the direction of the wind, or the strength. It moves on its own. "At this rate, we'll be there soon, if we can spot it. Apparently it's straight east."

Fang stomps her foot on the head of the ship and pulls a small spyglass from her bag. "Got this one from Stax. I gotta make our shortstack proud." She peers through silently as the others converse.

"Woah. This is kinda cool, but also a bit scary," Tom admits. He brings a hand down, and allows the tips of his fingers to touch the waves. "I've been to the beach, but besides the island a distance behind us, all I can see is ocean in every direction. It's probably so deep too. There's no telling what's down there."

"If a monster attacks, I'll tear it to pieces," Vodrani states.

As you sit near the center of the boat, Fang makes her way towards you. She places herself down, for some reason right on your lap instead of an open spot. "Hmm. Kyle, so you think we'll see any sea monsters?"

"Are you going to start talking about tentacles?"

"I'm not that predictable."

"Yes you are."

"Nuh uh!"

"Then what were you going to say?"

She leans back, and turns her eyes up to barely glance at you. She wiggles her fingers in the air. "Tentacles."

Amara gazes off towards the horizon. "The ocean is beautiful. Though it would be rather scary to be stranded out here. Drowning to me is for some reason more frightening than the creatures that reside here."

"I have no need to breathe," Alice says. "If that is comforting."

You watch the surface of the water, deep in thought as you speak. "It's hard to see it the same after that whole adventure with Kailani, Candy, and Snow. For those of you who don't know, we travelled deep beneath the ocean to the city of Nureteru, and met King Agam there, as well as Selina again too. You know, the kraken. There we faced the Demon King of that region. To make a long story short, we bested her and now I have a shell I can use to communicate with her, though she doesn't seem to respond very warmly."

"Another Demon King?" Anastasia replies. "And you faced her. I see. Perhaps you are more like a Hero-King of legend then."

Eva peers at you skeptically. She raises her fingers and makes quotation marks in the air. "I'm sure you fought her."

"We did actually fight, thank you very much," you respond.

Peony wraps herself around your arm. "There aren't any trees anywhere. It's a little scary. But also... quite stunning to see."

"Land ho!" Fang shouts. "Quick, we gotta turn the ship just a little, but you'll see it soon too. We'll probably be there in like ten minutes tops with how fast this boat goes," she says while swiftly stepping between and through everybody else with relative ease. She grabs the mast once again, and slips her spyglass away. "I don't know why, but I really feel like I'm pulling this captain thing off. Maybe I should have been a pirate."

"Sailing around, plundering booty?" you ask.

"You know it!"

One by one, the others do as well. Her eyes are quite good, as are Amara's, but after them, everybody else can see an island ahead. So far so good. At the very least, the merchant was right about something being here. Time to see if it's a trap or treasure.
