She manages a surprise, but no!

"You put up a good fight," Izuku told Momo as she walked back up to the competitor box.

She grimaced. "Wish I could have won... still, at least I gave him one hell of a headache," she replied.

Bakugo also walked nearby, holding an ice pack against his head, ironically provided by Momo herself. She didn't like Bakugo, but she wasn't that cruel to him. "That was a lucky hit, Yaoyorozu..." he grunted, before reluctantly deciding he should go see Recovery Girl sooner rather than later. Even he knew concussions were not to be ignored.

Momo and Izuku blinked as they watched him go. "...did he just actually use my name?" she asked.

"...he did," Izuku nodded numbly.

Meanwhile, Mina stood in front of Todoroki, who was wearing a stormy expression, and she shivered as Present Mic's commentary rang out, but neither she nor Todoroki were paying attention. Mina was just hoping that whatever pissed off Todoroki, he wouldn't go... overboard.

"Begin!" Midnight shouted, and Mina started to run forward... and Todoroki immediately took a step forward, and ice absolutely erupted from his right side, and engulfed the entire half of the arena that Mina was on.

The crowd stared, flabbergasted at the sheer display of power. Todoroki had just produced a freaking glacier! "...okay, I don't know who pissed in your curry, but leave me out of it!" Mina shouted comically, partially encased in the ice.

"Ms. Ashido, are you capable of freeing yourself?" Midnight asked, wanting confirmation before calling the match as Todoroki, assuming victory, turned to walk away.

"... actually, yes!" Mina shouted, putting out as much acid as she could. Low concentrate hydrochloric acid to be exact. Which had a much lower freezing point than water. She mentally thanked the study sessions for including some basic chemistry in them. The ice around her quickly melted, and she skated right at Todoroki's back just as he realized she wasn't bluffing, and turned just in time for her to clothesline him with an arm as she passed. He grunted as he went down, and she came to a stop to try to turn and press her advantage.

Unfortunately, Todoroki was faster, even with having just been clobbered, and once again produced ice. Only this time, instead of trying to trap her, this ice was meant to push her. "Gah!" she yelped as she was hit and **** backward. She produced more of the acid as the ice took her for a ride, but it was forming faster than she could melt it, and within seconds, she was flung out of bounds. "...yeah, knew I couldn't win, it wasn't going to stop me from trying," she groaned from where she lay as Midnight announced Todoroki's victory.

Meanwhile, Bakugo exited Recovery Girl's office, still holding the ice pack to his head. She had ensured no long term damage would stick with his brain, though she didn't heal his head all the way. He walked down the hall, and turned a corner, before pausing, seeing a smug looking Endeavor watch one of the screens hanging off the wall as Todoroki won.

"He's starting to see examples that ice alone can be countered without much trouble," Endeavor was musing aloud. "He just needs a little more of a push." Bakugo mentally scoffed and started to walk past Endeavor, not glancing his way. "...boy. You are my son's next opponent, are you not?" Endeavor asked, making Bakugo pause, already being pissed off interacting with this poor excuse for a parent.
