Interception in space!

"Turn down all power, and prepare to be boarded!" Tiffany felt a cold crawling down her spine as she heard the voice from the comm.

It was about ten minutes after she took off when she realized that the previous owner of the Rogue had a backdoor to the ship's systems. He turned down the weapons, shields and the Rogue's FTL drive. After that the ship was drifting in wild space like a bullet, waiting for either the authorities or a pirate gang to come knocking.

Five more minutes and she realized it was the latter. The Rogue's starboard exposed to the other vessel's main guns. Technically they weren't drifting; the other ship adjusted her trajectory to hers, and decided to tag along. But that was just a minute detail.

What mattered was that she had no option but to do as the other guy said, and let the pirates onboard. On the other hand what happens after that was entirely up to interpretation.
