Chapter 139 by Calamity_Jim

An Ambitious

“I’ve taken the liberty of allocating the initial investment across a portfolio of hedge funds, private equity placements, and currency plays. The projected daily yield is... well, conservative, but reliable,” Selena said, nearly breathless with reverence. She unrolled the document like an offering, sliding it forward with both hands. “And this is only the first wave.”

You stared at the figures. Your brain stalled.

You had no context for numbers like this. None. Your first reaction was to laugh—nervously, awkwardly—but the expressions on both Lexi and Selena’s faces told you they were dead serious.

Lexi leaned in, her tail lazily flicking behind her. “It’s real, babe. She’s turning your name into money. Fast.”

You ran a hand through your hair. “I… this can’t be right. You’re saying… this portfolio could make—”

“Roughly a hundred thousand dollars a day, if not more, depending on market shifts,” Selena finished for you, her voice husky with conviction. “And that’s just the beginning. Once the private shell companies are seeded and begin acquisitions, your assets will become self-expanding. Recursive. Like a living thing.”

She stepped closer, her heels silent against the floor, dark eyes shining with zeal. “Everything I build is yours. Every asset, every yield, is a gift from your servant. But also… from your partner in power.”

You blinked. “Partner?”

She smiled—just faintly. “Do you remember the terms of our contract, my lord? You granted me access to your magic. In return, I swore my service, my skills, and my ambition to you. Not just as tribute, but as investment.”

Lexi gave a low whistle. “Okay, now I get it. You weren’t just picking a side. You picked his future.”

Selena nodded, not breaking eye contact with you. “You are power incarnate. But raw power can be squandered, stolen, or feared into stagnation. That’s where I come in. You create. I cultivate. With your essence woven into my spells, I can compel deals, silence rivals, turn markets to rot if they threaten you. You could conquer kingdoms with ****, but I’ll help you own them instead. Quietly. Elegantly. Without blood, unless you wish it.”

You swallowed hard, the weight of her words settling somewhere between your chest and spine.

“This isn't just devotion,” Selena continued, circling behind you now, her fingers gliding across your shoulders. “This is destiny. Ours. I will raise your name to the top of every ledger, every boardroom, every global index. They will never know your face, but they will kneel to your influence.”

“You talk like this is all for me,” you said, half-turning to look at her. “But you want this too.”

Her smile widened slightly. “Of course I do. I’d be lying if I claimed I didn’t crave it. The power. The wealth. The ability to reshape the world with a whisper and a wire transfer.” She leaned in, her voice dropping. “But it means nothing if it’s not through you. That’s the difference.”

Lexi grinned. Lisbeth stared in amazement.

Selena let her fingers linger at your collar, then pulled back with practiced grace. “You are sacred to me. And useful. The only being I’ve ever met whose magic can fuel an empire and burn it down in the same breath.”

You turned more fully in the chair, gaze sharp. “So what do you want now, Selena? Really.”

She didn’t hesitate.

“I want your power. I want your trust. And if you’ll give it freely… I want your presence. To stand beside you as the world bends around your name. Not as a queen, but as your high priestess of wealth and shadow.”

She moved to one knee, head bowed, palms open like she was presenting an offering at an altar.

Lexi gave a slow, low chuckle. “She doesn’t just want to serve, babe. She wants to wield you like a sacred weapon.”

You stared at them both, a slow tension building in your chest. You’d done amazing things since meeting Morgana. But this…

This was empire-building.

And this woman?

She was already laying the bricks.
