Chapter 11

What's next?
First contact with the enemy
Victoria took a while to finish her masturbation session. By the time she was done, what would have been her breakfast had quickly turned into her lunch.
After she was finished, the librarian made sure to clean any of the crumbs she had left behind, as well as any remnants of her moistness she may have produced during her leisure time at the library. When she was done, she gathered the empty plate and cup, as well as the kettle with a little remnant of tea left inside, and headed for the kitchen, where she knew Rosemary would be.
Victoria hadn’t had much of a chance to talk with Rosemary since the new girl had gotten here. She had done that little divination trick yesterday, which, while impressive in the sense that she could predict Master’s whims in order to better serve him, she had also interrupted Victoria while she was reading, which was an unimaginable disrespect. But now she was using her powers willy-nilly in the castle, meaning she could theoretically warn or contact someone from outside of their little slice of heaven. Victoria simply could not allow that, so the head librarian knew she had the responsibility to check this girl out for herself.
The Lady of the Night walked with fierce determination and resolve. She gathered in her mind all the information she knew about Rosemary. She was a wizard, but not just any wizard, as she could casually throw divination spells around and identify what spells Master was casting at a mere glance. That meant she was really powerful and, consequently, as a wizard, pretty smart.
That information troubled Victoria. Victoria had been, up until this point, the smartest person Master had ever captured. She didn’t bring up this fact out of petty jealousy for the new girl, however. No, it was important because Victoria had also been the only person to ever discover that they were under a charm spell. And she remembered very well how much of a nuisance she had been for the others, and especially for Master, in those first months.
She could not allow Rosemary to deal that kind of damage to her Master’s slaves. Of course, they eventually recovered from Victoria’s misguided attempts at insurrection, and no damage she did back then was ever that serious, but she could hardly call herself the smartest woman in the harem if she would just let that situation play itself out again and do nothing about it. So it was decided, she would go to Master's little seer, and she would interrogate her. Not directly about the charm, not yet, and especially not if any other girls were around her, but the Lady of the Night would inquire about her loyalty.
She needed to be subtle about it, not draw too much attention to her true intentions with these questions, but still draw the desired information out of her target. She needed to be strategic, ask questions that could prompt long answers and explanations, get the girl talking so that maybe she could slip up and reveal something, or maybe just lay out her loyalty for Victoria to see. Either way, it was imperative of her to exercise caution and show no trace of—
“Hello, my Lady.”
“Aaaaah!”
Victoria dropped her tray as she was startled by the completely unexpected event of being greeted by someone. Fortunately, her fellow sister was agile enough to grab the tray with one hand before it even hit the ground.
“Careful, or you could have broken some of Marianne’s beautiful dishes.” Natalia said to the Lady of the Night as she extended the tray back to her.
“Oh, right, yeah, thank you.” Victoria took the tray and held it with as firm of a grasp as she could muster. “I don’t know what happened back there. I was really concentrated on something and… well, you showed up. Sorry.” The librarian scratched the side of her head, embarrassed. The motion made the tray wobble unsteadily again, almost driving the muscular chief of security to instinctively extend her arm and hold the tray before it fell, but Victoria returned her hand to its handle before it tumbled to the ground once more.
“Nah, it’s no problem, my Lady.” Natalia tried to push away her anxiety that the dishes would fall at any moment from her Lady’s clumsy hands. “Anyways, I wanted to thank you for accepting my invitation to participate in the group workouts I do with the girls. It’s good to see you getting out of the library and exercising more, not to mention spending some time with all of us. You can really spend too much time cooped up in that library of yours,” the muscular blonde said, worried about her **** sister. “You could really benefit from getting to know some of the newer girls. Socialize, get out of your bubble. Never know what good could come of it.”
“Ah, well, you know how time flies, right?” Victoria laughed nervously, still mortally embarrassed by her fumble. “I’m actually going to talk with one of them right now. Rosemary?”
“Oh, going for the bottom of the list, huh? Either way, that’s good for you, getting out of your comfort zone, congratulations!”
“Thank you, sister.” Victoria said, and Natalia curtsied in return. “I am planning to have a long conversation with her, actually, and then go for your workout after. When is it again?”
“In five minutes, I was just about to head for the patio.” Natalia said, knowing exactly what was coming next.
“FIVE MINUTES?!” Victoria yelled and immediately began running down the hall. “Sorry to run, sister! I gotta do this one thing first, it’s really important!”
“No problem, my Lady!” Natalia yelled back as the Lady of the Night was already turning a corner. The blonde chief of security smirked at her younger sister, always distracted, and the cutest whenever she got surprised. “Never change, my Lady, never change.”

Victoria was upset she didn’t get more time to talk with Natalia. As head of security, surely she would have a good read on Rosemary. Knowing her impressions of the new girl could have actually helped the librarian in her upcoming confrontation. Alas, it was all her own fault, her masturbation time had severely outstretched its intended duration. She would need to be more conscious of her self pleasuring moments going forward.
She stopped just as she got to the kitchen doors. She could hear laughter inside, it seemed Marianne and Rosemary were getting along well. Victoria took a brief moment to catch her breath after running so much, she took a second to compose herself, slow down, and mentally prepare for what was to come. Then, with renewed confidence, she knocked on the door and pushed it open.
“...and that is how you make a good stew!” Marianne exclaimed as she showed something to Rosemary over her cooking pot.
“Wow, this smells delicious, sister!” The newbie exclaimed, wide eyed. “I can’t wait to try this at lunch!” Victoria couldn’t help but chuckle at the mere idea of this wizard staring intently into a cauldron. Rosemary looked like the very stereotypical image of a witch. That is, minus the pointy hat. And the robes. Those had been confiscated by Master. So, you know, a sexy witch. Anyway…
“I hope I am not interrupting anything.” Victoria announced her presence. She gently set down her tray on a nearby counter.
“Not at all, my Lady!” Marianne responded, excited to have so many visitors on her usually more lonesome job. “What brings you to my kitchen?”
“Oh, yes, I simply had to compliment this tea! The mix of flavors was one of the best I have ever tasted.” Victoria said, trying her best to sound casual. And definitely not sound as excited as she felt, at the prospect of having her theory confirmed.
“It was actually Rosemary who brewed it!” Marianne smiled and patted the brunette wizard on the back, who, in turn, could only blush.
“That was amazing, Rosemary!” Victoria tried to pour all the rush she felt for being correct into the compliment she was giving her little sister. “Do you have a lot of experience brewing?”
“I have, actually. Most of my potions come from brewing plants and other natural ingredients. I sell them in villages and towns when I’m on my adventures. I need them to make a living, you know?” She answered with a shy smile, but then she frowned right after. “Or needed, in fact. Now I… live here. I may not need to do that anymore?”
She didn’t sound sure. She hadn’t bought into the whole **** sisters dynamic. And more importantly, into the cham.
“Say, little sister…” Victoria said, trying to feign disinterest.
“Yes, Vic… I mean, my Lady?”
She corrected herself. She hadn’t gotten used to the “Lady of the Night” thing yet, but that was more of a custom they all shared rather than part of the actual spell. More importantly, she didn’t need anyone reminding her, she was proactive in her correction. Maybe she really did want to fit in, but her intellect could be getting in her own way, perhaps trying to cling to an outdated idea of freedom.
“Well,” Victoria continued, “you’ve been here for almost a full day now, so I was just curious if you had formed any opinions on our Master already. Would you care to share?”
“I…” The wizard blushed again. Victoria had to admit, she was cute when she was embarrassed. “Master is the most handsome man I've ever met. I think… I fell head over heels for him the moment I woke up here, when I laid eyes on him.” The wizard finished, confused and embarrassed at her own words.
This was good. She called him “Master” of her own volition, though Victoria didn’t really know what else to call him, it's not like he had ever given most of the girls his real name. Still, this attraction was worth exploring.
“So you love him, you adore him, same as the rest of us here. But what will you do about those feelings? Would you act upon them?”
“Oh, yes, most definitely!” Rosemary answered with the most certainty Victoria had ever heard the shy girl put into anything. “Whenever I'm with him, it’s like heaven on earth. I feel like everything he does to me is the best thing that could have happened at that moment. The best compliment I could’ve gotten, the best touch I could’ve received. The best thing about Master is that he makes me feel the most at peace I’ve ever felt in my entire life. I…” and here, a bit of her usual timid air returned, “I would do anything in my power to preserve this feeling.”
Rosemary surprised herself with that statement. But not Victoria. The librarian knew very well how it felt to slowly have Master become the center of your entire world, and she would not have it any other way, too. The new girl’s answers were satisfying, whether she knew about the charm or not, whether she was capable of fighting it for a bit more than most, she seemed to be acclimating to the sisters’ way of thinking just fine.
Victoria turned to Marianne to see what she thought of Rosemary’s opinions on Master, but she saw the cook diminishing the fire and removing her apron. “Marianne, what are you doing?”
“I’m getting ready for Natalia’s workout session. I had already told her I would be running a little late because I had to cook lunch, so she has probably already started without me.” Marianne answered calmly as she meticulously put away her tools. Victoria, however, had a cold shiver run down her spine.
“CRAP! I forgot again! It was great talking with you Rosemary, hope-we-can-talk-more-again-later-bye!” Victoria screamed the last few words as she bolted out the door. She sprinted down the halls, determined to not keep her friend waiting any longer.
