Chapter 29 by Ebanu8 Ebanu8

What happens next?

Youko is in a scuffle

One afternoon, as Youko returned from the school cafeteria, she was accosted by a group of mean-looking bullies who cornered her outside, outnumbering her eight to one.

"Hey, Youko-chan, care to have some fun together?" The lead delinquent asked, his eyes leering all over Youko's sexy body.

"Not interested, now please leave," Said Youko.

"Oh no, that's not how this works," Said the delinquent, "See, we really just want to have some fun together, and I'm sure you don't want to deal with such boring, tedious lessons all the time, right?"

"So? That's not your business," Youko firmly said.

The delinquents inched closer, their hands pawing at her clothes. Youko maintained her braavado, though it was quickly beginning to strain.

"Leave her alone."

They turned to face Eothai with annoyance.

"Hey, this ain't your business you asshole," The lead delinquent mocked.

"Wait, isn't that the transfer student? Eothai, I think was his name?" Said another delinquent.

"Oh yeah, the cocky bastard Archery Club President who won against Kobe High," Said the lead delinquent, "Tell you what, you turn and walk away, and we'll leave you be, alright?"

"I return your words to you," Eothai replied with a chilly glare, "And besides, I have no time to waste on cowards like you."

"The fuck you say, you bastard!?" Another delinquent cursed as he raised a fist to punch Eothai.

The Elf effortlessly smacked him in the ribs, sending him flying a few steps and causing him to vomit. The other delinquents, shocked by the display of strength, quickly rallied and ganged up on him, only to be beaten by a few casual swipes of Eothai's hands. In three seconds flat, all other bullies lay crumpled on the ground, immobile and gurgling from the pain.

The lead delinquent, shaking in his legs, held Youko in front of him like a shield, wrapping an arm around her neck.

"Don't come any closer, or she gets it!" He cried, tears of fear spilling from his eyes.

Eothai fixed him the coldest, most bone-chilling glare he had ever seen in his life, making him lose what scraps of courage he had left, and he turned tail and ran.

"Damn it, I'll remember this!" He screamed like a little girl.

Eothai turned to grab Youko's hand gently and lead her away from the scene.

"Are you alright, Youko?" Asked Eothai, his eyes now softened and compassionate.

Youko blushed at Eothai's concern, and she muttered, "I-I'm fine, and thanks. If you had come any later..."

Youko was hardly phased by most things in life, be it academics or sports or personal matters. Most times, she just greeted consequences and bad luck with a stiff upper lip and went on with life, rather than overly dwell on them. Yet now, Eothai could see in Youko's eyes a tinge of fear, and the way she hugged her arms tighter and looked away, as if trying to conceal her weakness...

Rather than try to console her, Eothai instead said, "Let's get you to the nurse's office at least. I'll go tell the teacher you feel under the weather."

"Thanks," Youko smiled softly.

"Damn it! That bastard, how dare he!"

The lead delinquent punched the wall hard the moment his fear faded, replaced with burning shame and rage that refused to subside.

"That's right, aniki! He had no business meddling with us! Just give us the word and we'll beat him to a pulp!" Another delinquent exclaimed.

How easy it was for fools driven by emotions to forget their fear and think only of ****. Such was mortal nature.

"Wait, wait. We can't just go at him again like before; we need many more than just us to beat him down, and I know exactly just who to contact," The lead delinquent smiled maliciously.

"You mean...?"

"The Kobe Red Devils," Said the lead delinquent.

"Hell yeah! The most infamous biker gang in the prefecture, numbering over a hundred! With them on our side, no way that bastard will be able to defeat so many!"

And the lead delinquent's malicious smile deepened, turning ghastly and evil.

I'll make you regret getting in my way, Eothai. Just you watch.

Where do the delinquents strike next?
