Mia 1: Flash Forward Bonus Card pick

Mia read aloud, “Flash Forward. Bonus Card. With a quick flash, you dash ahead of the other players. Roll an extra die this turn.”

“My turn!” Faith butted in. She plopped onto the ground, hip to hip with Mia. Faith palmed the dice, shook them for luck, blew on them, and rolled. Her excited energy immediately inverted.

“A four?? Really?” asked Faith. She was so disheartened looking at her one and three. Her high heel piece slid forward a pitifully short distance compared to Mia’s mailbox being two and a half times as far as her. To top it all off, she landed on another challenge space between a teal and green space.

“And I’m between two special spaces! Come ooooooooon…” Faith grumbled. She tried to hold back any further complaining, not wanting Sophie to see her fuming over such a bad start to the game.

P’TIIING!

Faith jumped, not ready for the cards to appear. She looked over at Sophie’s triumphant smirk, and her entire soul steeled with determination. There’s no way Faith would let this nerd beat her, and she needed to get her game face on.

Faith studied her options. Challenges named “Under Achiever”, “Spring Spray Soirée”, and “Ante Up!” peeked out from the board.
